Job purpose:

· You will be responsible for screening and supporting the business and Maersk Compliance with Air and LCL shipment requests and providing guidance and advice on sanctions and export controls-related inquiries.

· The role necessitates coverage during weekdays (Monday to Friday), weeknights (Monday to Friday), weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and Indian Public holidays to accommodate global time zones. This schedule will be rotated among team members.

Job description/key descriptions:

· Engaging and assisting the Maersk Compliance and stakeholders with the daily sanctions & export control screening of parties and commodities for the air and LCL request including the analysis and the approval thereof

· Engaging and assisting the Maersk Compliance and stakeholders with daily sanctions, and export controls when applicable, screening of commodities/cargoes to determine whether the commodity is restricted or permitted (e.g. arms, military items, dual-use items, and any other restricted commodities as identified by Maersk Compliance).

· Monitoring and complying with country-specific approval processes for dealing with highly sanctioned countries and high-risk sanctioned countries.

· Manage and execute the documentation process for the screening of parties and commodities/cargoes.

· Maintaining detailed documentation of approvals and rejections of parties and commodities/cargoes.

· Supporting risk assessments, performance, and reporting.

· Supporting in performing investigations on sanctions and export controls.

· Supporting internal control implementation and effectiveness of the Maersk Compliance programme.

· Supporting the Maersk Compliance Department with any other ad-hoc requests.

· Documenting results of the screening of parties and cargoes and ensuring timely assessments

· Assisting in drafting relevant SOPs and training materials and providing support in onsite and online training as needed.

Experience/skills:

· Minimum 3 years' experience within trade compliance-related functions and/or within ‘Know Your Customer’ due diligence and screening.

· Understanding commercial shipping, air, and LCL services.

· Good knowledge of sanctions & export control regulations (e.g. OFAC, OFSI, EU, UN)

· Strong experience in conducting due diligence and assessments.

· Excellent intercultural, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent written and verbal skills in English.

· Experience in implementing internal control frameworks.

· Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and e-mail applications.

· Highly motivated and detail-oriented with great organizational skills.
