Role purpose: The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing equipment and services at competitive prices and within tight time constraints. She/he develops and implements innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies and works with the relevant departments to ensure that costs remain within budget and maintains/updates the supplier database and finds alternative suppliers if the existing ones are unable to meet their obligations.


Key accountabilities:

• Responsible for all procurement and purchasing activities on assigned projects including inquiry preparation, purchasing, commercial bid analysis, risk assessments, negotiating rates, pre-contracts and awarding procedures;
• Ensures the most favourable terms and conditions for the company through volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers. Reduce costs and improve efficiency;
• Ensures that all procurement procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner by all stakeholders and assists and advises the Project Managers with ongoing administration of contracts;
• Employs tools for cost reduction such as supplier consolidation, quality improvements, and process efficiencies. Reviews supplier performance for conformance to company policy and contract terms. Discusses defects delivery problems and apply penalties/negotiate refunds.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and new products comparing available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricing;

What are we looking in you:

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, logistics, supply chain or related field;
• A thorough understanding of sourcing methodologies;
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail and follow-up
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers (essencial)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service (must)
