Job Description

This is a field based role covering North London on a 12 month FTC basis.

The Electric Vehicle Principle Delivery Engineer will be responsible for the infield supervision of build for Virgin Media O2 Electric Vehicle Charging point rollout within the UK, working on behalf of Believ. The Principle Delivery Engineer will ensure build is completed to the required quality and specification, dealing with onsite issues as they occur. The engineers will be responsible for completing pre-site surveys, as well as requiring the ability supervise / sign-off electrical works and so will need the appropriate accreditation (NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent). The engineer will be covering a large region so travel will be required.

Roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Execute a Delivery Plan which meets or exceeds SLA and VM / Believ budget expectations for sites to be delivered
  • Work closely with the EV Programme team to ensure that resources are identified and scheduled to meet all site inspection demands as required by the Programme
  • Work closely with various functions, such as Planning, Build and Partner Management to ensure the process for delivery is well established and that sufficient resources and orders exist in the regional pipeline for timely delivery of contractual commitments and VM budget targets
  • Work closely with the build partners to ensure that resources are identified and scheduled to meet all site build deliveries as required by the programme.
  • Work with supply chain to ensure materials are readily available and with contractors.
  • Manage DNO connection, working closely with ICP to align connection and installation timeframes within 10 day build model.
  • Manage the site sign off process, both for the Local Authorities and for Believ, indicating when a site is completed from a VM O2 perspective

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • A track record of successfully delivering large projects and programmes in Telecoms & Media sector
  • Experience of working with construction partners
  • NRSWA Streetworks and Supervision accreditations
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and people management skills - the ability to align a team behind a challenging goal!

  • Experience of delivering fibre backhaul or FTTP programmes desired
  • Previous Qualified Supervisor expereince (NICEIC or NAPIT eligible
  • ECS Gold Card (Installation Electrician or Approved Electrician)
  • City and Guilds 2919
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – BS 7671
