The Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our Water Quality and Public Health team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop expertise in drinking water regulation and compliance.

The team is responsible for managing the Company’s day-to-day relationship with the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI), ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met to protect public health and maintain customer confidence.

In this role, you will support provision of regulatory reports relating to water quality to key regulatory bodies – principally the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI).

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports to the DWI and other bodies in line with statutory requirements
  • Assist in maintaining effective working relationships with the Drinking Water Inspectorate
  • Help monitor compliance with Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations and Information Direction requirements
  • Collate, analyse and report regulatory data, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Track actions, commitments and responses relating to DWI correspondence arising from compliance reporting, water quality events, DWI consumer complaints, audits and legal instruments
  • Assist in identifying and escalating potential regulatory risks within the business
  • Support internal reporting on performance measures, such as compliance risk index, event risk index and DWI recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to gather information and support remedial actions

What We Are Looking for:

  • Candidates should have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) (including Maths and English)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of source to tap water supply (in particular water quality measures and standards)
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage data accurately
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with attention to detail
  • Well-organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Competent across a broad range of computing skills and comfortable working with data systems
