United Utilities
Providing great water for a stronger, greener and healthier North West 💧
We're the UK’s largest listed water company, delivering water and wastewater services to around 8 million people and 200,000 businesses across the North West of England.
Our region is diverse and has been shaped by multicultural communities. It’s the birthplace of Kendal Mint Cake and scouse, classic literature like Peter Rabbit and Alice in Wonderland. It boasts numerous world-renowned sports teams. It’s the region that brought the world The Beatles, Oasis and Harry Styles as well as the bright colours of Manchester Pride and bright lights of Blackpool Tower Ballroom and Media City. It is underpinned by a rich diversity – home to Europe’s largest Chinese community and Britain’s oldest African community. The North West is somewhere we are proud to call home.
Some key facts about us:
🌳We own 56,000 hectares of land
🚰We have 86 water treatment works
🤩We deliver 1.8 billion litres water, every single day
🚾We treat 3.1 million litres wastewater, every single day
🫶 We employ over 7,000 brilliant & committed colleagues
The water industry works in 5 year asset management cycles or AMP's as we call them. For the period 2025-2030, we're delivering our largest investment in water and wastewater infrastructure in over 100 years - that's over £16.5 billion worth of capital projects. So now, more than ever we need the best North West talent to help us deliver our Big North West Upgrade. The video below highlights some of the major projects we're delivering over the next 5 years.
