Job Description

This role leads transformation projects and drives change in Product & Purchasing. The focus is on optimising engagement and maximising benefits through strategic transformation projects, improved business processes and design and exploit synergies or share best practice in our ways of working across various stakeholders.

The role is responsible for identifying and delivering measurable benefits working together with transformation experts, operational teams and technology specialists using the Lean methodology. Further the role holder promotes the adoption of Process Ownership enabling the function to do things better, faster, cheaper and supporting the group strategy for growth.

The location for this role is flexible and can be based remotely or at any of our office locations in Germany, UK, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands

About the job:

  • You will be leading transformation improvement projects including process design and re-engineering using TUI Way (Lean) methodology, seeking opportunities for cross-market collaboration, and ensuring benefits are delivered.

  • You will engage with Business Leads and project sponsor to evaluate and agree scope of work, resource commitment and Process Ownership accountability along with expected project outcomes and goals as well as planning, co-ordinating and managing all process improvement activities, ensuring that a detailed plan is available to support reporting and communication.

  • Throughout the project, you will coach and facilitate new ways of working and you will be responsible for producing training material with subject matter experts from across the impacted business areas including the system support team colleagues. You will ensure stakeholders of all levels are continually updated of progress; this will include multiple different communications channels to all levels of colleagues, including to senior level. You will maintain an updated stakeholder matrix and communication plan.

  • You will be eliciting, collating, and evaluating issues associated with current processes, producing heat maps, affinity diagrams or other Lean documentation to help the business understand and prioritise areas of focus based on measurable impact. You will conduct root cause or problem-solving analysis to identify constraints that may need to be incorporated into future ways of working.

  • You will be working with the Head of Transformational Strategy and Business Design and the Business Sponsor to evaluate options for future state ways of working, this may include defining a vision and conducting strategic research and establish the design principles needed to guide new ways of working.

  • For technology projects, this includes ensuring business requirements are established and completing risks & controls documentation.

  • Evaluate, produce, and communicate process risk and control documentation (COSO RCM/ FMEA), making sure that risk is designed out of the process, while balancing this with a Lean and efficient way of working.

  • You will be an advocate for the Process Owner structure as a platform for process improvement ideas, providing guidance and support to the business on the importance of Process Ownership for the successful adoption of new ways of working. You will train and coach the Process Owner to take accountability for continuous improvement and evolution of the process once implemented.

  • You will be responsible for supporting colleagues on the change journey during the life cycle of the projects.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong relationship and networking skills, able to effectively influence stakeholders.

  • Experience in working in a global environment with team and stakeholders spread across all TUI markets (intercultural awareness)

  • Strong problem solving/ analytical skills; demonstrable ability with Lean six sigma tools, able to arbitrate and find acceptable business solutions.

  • Ideally qualified as Lean Six Sigma black belt with a minimum of 3 years’ experience preferable but not mandatoryHas a passion for exploring new forward-thinking trends and changes in process methodologies

  • Process mapping experience with either BPMN or similar. Viso/Miro use essential as a minimum, experience of process risk evaluation tools including COSO RCMs and Lean FMEAs

  • An expert facilitator and coach, able to create the conditions needed for open and honest collaboration, balancing this with the need for expediency.

  • Strong customer & commercial acumen and value focus, able to show the measurable value of process activity

  • Engaging and inspiring communication skills in English, both written and verbal, multi-lingual desirable

  • Strong team player with the ability to challenge and effectively coach others

  • An individual able to accommodate moderate business travel, often to Hannover, London/Luton and other TUI offices
