The Scrum Master is a practitioner and a passionate advocate of agile practices and lives by agile values and takes on new challenges with an agile mind-set. The Scrum Master is a key role in supporting our agile journey and is responsible for creating, aligning and promoting new practices and methodologies across various levels of the organisation to help Corporate Services IT to continuously improve how they work.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • As a Scrum Master you will be the catalyst for driving and supporting the agile journey by creating, aligning and promoting the “agile vision” together with the Corporate Solutions Finance Support Operations and HR IT team. You will be working with colleagues within Finance and HR IT that support multiple systems and solutions for the of the business. You will use your deep knowledge and hands-on experience with a range of agile and lean practices to guide the evolution of the agile mindset and the development of a culture of trust and transparency
  • The Scrum Master will help agile teams agree on what they can achieve during each development sprint as well as facilitate daily stand-up (daily Scrum) so that team can reach their goals. Helping the team make progress on the project and objectives is a principal objective that will also ensure each person is working on the right tasks, helping to remove any obstacles to the team members’ progress, and protecting the team from distractions
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example, guiding the team and organisation on how to use agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers and improve teams Scrum maturity
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving is a key for a Scrum Master, as well as assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information so customers and stake holders are always informed in a transparent manner
  • Together with the Teams, the Scrum Master reviews and develops the Scrum artifacts including product backlog and sprint backlog. They are responsible for keeping the Scrum moving, and continuously reporting on developments, celebrating successes, and defining, understanding, and resolving roadblocks
  • As an experienced practitioner, you regularly conduct and contribute to agile, technology and digital events internally and externally. You are also an active contributor to the global TUI agile community
  • You will work closely with the Technical Team Leads and their Teams to deliver a standard Scrum and Agile process across the Finance & HR Domain working in an evolutionary way as the teams transition to a full Agile way of working
  • You will be responsible for fostering the mindset change to customer centricity and create value for business, customers and users. You will collaborate closely to help experiment with new approaches, techniques, tools and ideas in order to achieve the agreed Objectives and Key Reports and goals. You will support the change to a ‘continuously learning’ organisation by focusing on enabling effective decision making and fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement

ABOUT YOU

  • Deep and practical knowledge of and expertise in agile Jira and Confluence delivery practices, passionate about continuous improvement, collaboration and great teams
  • Experience in driving organisational change at a team and Domain level
  • Deep understanding of and hands-on experience with a range of agile frameworks, methods and tools (e.g. Kanban, Scrum, XP, Design Thinking, LeSS, Nexus, Flight Level, OKR) and their application to a varied range of contexts
  • Systems thinker, experienced in improving ways of working and introducing new practices in a large organisation and across multiple teams
  • Practitioner in all things agile, active member of the global agile community
  • A true believer of autonomy, empowerment and accountability of teams and pods
  • Excellent coaching, facilitation and influencing skills, reflective observer
  • Excellent situational and cultural awareness
  • Open minded, inquisitive, life-long learner
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, highly autonomous
  • Proficient English is required
