Job Description

Please note this job posting is made on behalf of TUI BLUE Curaçao. However, GSM Realco B.B.V will be the employer of record for this position. While TUI is involved in the recruitment process, all employment contracts, payroll, and employment-related responsibilities will be managed by GSM Realco B.B.V.

TUI BLUE Curaçao is a new all-inclusive hotel resort located at the Bay Santa Martha in Curaçao. The resort will open with 300 rooms and will extend with an additional 100 room extension. It will open with three restaurants, and several other leisure facilities. The construction has already started; the hotel will open in the first quarter of 2026.

Join as Chief Engineer, where you will lead the engineering and maintenance function across our properties. This role requires a technically strong and results-driven leader who ensures the highest standards of safety, quality, and sustainability through effective team leadership and operational excellence.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead all engineering and maintenance operations across assigned properties, ensuring asset reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee all building systems—mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing—to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend asset lifespan.
  • Direct renovation and capital projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to brand and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage engineering budgets, identifying efficiencies and driving cost optimization.
  • Champion sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives that align with the company’s environmental goals.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to technical or guest-related issues, ensuring seamless hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in engineering or facilities management within upscale or luxury hospitality, including at least five years in a senior leadership role.
  • Expert knowledge of building systems, maintenance planning, energy management, and statutory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in managing budgets, capital projects, and multi-site technical teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capability under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in professional English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Hands-on, proactive leader with high technical acumen and a strong commitment to operational excellence.
