Job Description

Senior UI Designers define the visual quality and interface craft within a significant product area — shaping direction as well as delivering it. You set the standard for what great looks like across visual design, interaction completeness, and system coherence, and ensure that standard holds across everything the team ships. You'll be embedded in a squad working across Loyalty (including Clubcard) and Customer Support, partnering closely with UX Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, Proposition, and Lead Designers evolving the interaction system. You'll also collaborate with the Design System team and designers across connected surfaces including Shopping, Financial Services, and Marketplace. You're deeply hands-on, shaping the interface directly while raising the craft of the designers around you.

  • Owning the UI quality bar across your product area layout precision, typographic clarity, visual hierarchy, and interaction completeness.
  • Applying the Digital Design System with expertise; identifying gaps and proposing improvements grounded in real product needs.
  • Ensuring every interface accounts for all interaction states, error handling, empty states, and responsive behaviour.
  • Working closely with Engineers to ensure implementations accurately reflect design intent.
  • Using data and feedback from live products to improve interface quality and contribute to squad OKRs around digital experience.
  • Sharing work early, seeking feedback proactively, and giving constructive critique that raises the quality of the whole team — not just your own work.
  • Mentoring Junior and Mid UI Designers.
  • Portfolio demonstrating high-quality UI craft across large-scale digital products.
  • Deep understanding of design systems and component-based design.
  • Strong interaction design knowledge and high attention to visual detail.
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams and influencing cross-functional partners with confidence.
  • Proactive and open: you share early, seek feedback, and give critique that lifts the people around you.
