Pod

Connecting you with clean electric living. Easy. Affordable. Rewarding.

We are one of the UK’s leading EV charging providers, trusted by over 250,000 customers and powering more than 5 million miles every single day. But behind the numbers is a team of passionate people working together to shape a smarter, more sustainable future.

Pod is on a mission to "connect you with clean electric living. Easy. Affordable. Rewarding."

Ultimately, "powering the life we love – without costing the earth."

We are a business, based on innovation... we launched:

  • The first, home EV Charger in the UK
  • The first EV Charging Subscription Service (Pod Drive)
  • and, are currently working on the next big launch for our UK customers!

The work we do is always embedded in our values, which have evolved over time.

Melanie Lane (CEO) said - "Success comes from a team that has Truth, Edge and Care” – and as such, our values were born.

Truth = Discipline = "What's right, not easy"

We act with integrity, and you can count on us to do what's right even, if it's tough.
We're open, honest and communicate clearly. Complicated processes are nobody's friend, so we prioritise efficiency and simplicity.
We tackle problems head on and find solutions that are best for our business and customers, no matter the challenge.

Edge = Innovation = "Lead the charge"

We use our knowledge and experience to lead, innovate and disrupt. We keep our competitive edge through new ideas, constant learning (from success and failure), and apapting quickly to deliver results at pace.
We lead by example and encourage a culture of continuous improvement, driving our team and the company forward.

Care = Customer = "Connected Heart"

We care deeply about out people and customers.
By listening, showing empathy and making positive connections, we build an inclusive culture where everyone feels values and understood.
We're in service of something bigger than ourselves - our shared purpose, our team and the communities we support.

Who are POD?

We started off in 2009 as Pod Point, helping people make the switch to electric as EVs began to hit the road. Today, we’re leading the way into a smarter energy future. As part of the EDF family – the UK’s biggest generator of zero-carbon electricity – we have the strength and stability to grow for the future.

We’re proud to be the trusted charging partner for leading automotive brands like Mercedes, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, and Kia; home builders Barratt and Bellway; and retail giants including Tesco. Our smart charging solutions don’t just support EV drivers - they help balance the grid, lower costs, and make clean energy accessible to everyone.

Pod is here to help build a brighter future for society by managing the flow of energy, making it affordable, accessible, and for the benefit of everyone.

Approach to inclusion

Ed Airey, Chief People Officer:

"Creating an inclusive and supportive workplace is not just the right thing to do, it is also absolutely essential to our business, and the best possible example of all our values. When people feel they belong, are treated fairly, and have the tools to look after their wellbeing, they thrive, and so does our business.
Our commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion and wellbeing is about building a culture where everyone feels empowered to be themselves, contribute fully, and grow together.
And we want to create a workplace that we can be proud of, not just for what we do internally but also the work we do in our industry and communities too.”

Flexible working at Pod

A Fresh Perspective on Flexible Working

One of things that we really pride ourselves on here at Pod is that we fully acknowledge that all our Podders are human beings with busy lives that don’t just involve work.

Whether this is needing time for childcare, having some additional time for life admin or to embrace a new hobby we are certainly always willing to consider all varieties of flexible working requests.

As such, we have contracts / working patterns that suit most people, we have highlighted a few of them below:

Hybrid Working (Most Common) - 8-12 days per month, on-site, at our offices in London

Field Based - based from home, with the expectation of 2-3 days per week on site (client and/or customer)

Remote-First - fully based from home, with the expectation of one day in the office once per quarter

As well as this, we are proud to offer some great flexible benefits that go to support other ways of flexibly working, such as:

Work from Anywhere (20 days per year) - exactly as it says on the tin!

Flexible Bank Holidays - 8 flexible bank holiday days (UK) to spend as you wish!

Pod is committed to supporting an inclusive, flexible, and people -centered workplace.

Recognising that traditional Bank Holidays may not hold the same significance for everyone, this policy allows employees to exchange government -set Bank Holidays for alternative dates that better suit their cultural, religious, or personal needs.

This approach empowers employees to take meaningful time off and supports diversity, equity and inclusion across Pod.
