JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Operations Specialist will manage and maintain the day to day running of our core tools within our IT infrastructure device landscape. Ensuring the smooth operation of our internal systems and providing technical support to our distributed teams. This person will be responsible for driving the adoption of essential security measures such as SSO and 2-factor authentication, as well as managing access controls and managing the onboarding/offboarding processes. This person will manage our core IT system backups and support the technical implementations to ensure data integrity and availability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage and maintain core tools within our IT infrastructure, including Mac OSX, Google Workspace, Slack, Hangouts, Zoom, and Hofy for device distribution.
- Provide general IT support for our tools (VPN, Slack, Google Workspace, and more), including training for both new starters and refreshers for existing team members
- Troubleshoot and resolve software or hardware issues by serving as our internal IT support.
- Drive the adoption of SSO and 2-factor authentication across all tools used.
- Own device management across the organization using business MDM tooling and VPN systems. This will include improving processes for new device configuration and remote troubleshooting, Implement and manage 1Password for secure password management.
- Manage the access review process, creating, modifying, or deleting user accounts as needed.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding process from an IT perspective, provisioning and de-provisioning access accordingly.
- Assist with internal Information Security Projects & Audits on hardware and vendor landscape.
- Implement technical solutions to enhance our information security setup.
- Provide training to team members on technical topics as needed.
- Manage core IT system backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in an IT support/Tech Ops role or similar for at least 3 years, preferably in a remote work environment.
- Strong proficiency with Mac OSX and familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, and other collaboration tools.
- Can work independently
- Experience with implementing and managing security measures such as SSO and 2-Factor Authentication.
- Has a growth and learning mindset with a strong hands-on attitude and the ability to adapt to a fast and volatile environment
- Has a strong understanding of VPN, network connections, and security protocols, knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
