The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. As an SRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems and services. You will collaborate closely with cross functional teams to design, build, and maintain resilient infrastructure and automate processes to enhance operational efficiency.
What you’ll be doing
- System Reliability: Ensure the reliability of critical systems by monitoring, measuring, and improving system uptime and performance.
- Incident Response and Management: Respond to and resolve incidents in a timely manner, participating in on-call rotations as necessary.
- Infrastructure Automation: Develop and maintain infrastructure as code to automate deployment, configuration, and scaling of services.
- Performance Optimisation: Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimisations to improve system efficiency and response times.
- Capacity Planning: Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure systems can handle current and future loads.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and implement best practices, tools, and processes to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineering teams to design and deploy scalable and reliable applications.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
What we’re looking for in you
- Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
- Extensive experience within incident management with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions under pressure.
- Proven experience in release management to ensure the smooth and efficient deployment of software updates and enhancements.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Go, Java).
- Experience with containerisation technologies and container orchestration in AWS.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms and related services.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
