What you’ll be doing

  • System Reliability: Ensure the reliability of critical systems by monitoring, measuring, and improving system uptime and performance.
  • Incident Response and Management: Respond to and resolve incidents in a timely manner, participating in on-call rotations as necessary.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineering teams to design and deploy scalable and reliable applications.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.

What we’re looking for in you

  • Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or within a dual role (DevOps/SRE)
  • Extensive experience within incident management with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions under pressure.
  • Proven experience in release management to ensure the smooth and efficient deployment of software updates and enhancements.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Go, Java).
  • Experience with containerisation technologies and container orchestration in AWS.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms and related services.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • As we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every individual is valued, respected, and empowered to use their voice, we’ll expect you to demonstrate a likeminded approach to how you communicate and collaborate with others.
  • We don’t like old fashioned corporate hierarchy. Instead, we like to empower our people and be autonomous in their role. You should be adaptable and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • We're building a vibrant community full of the best people the fintech world has to offer. You should be enthusiastic about our industry and able tap into your experience and expertise to help take Shieldpay to the next level.
