SAP SF P&E COO PMO is seeking a Technical Program Manager located in Palo Alto (or San Ramon), US who will be expected to manage technology program(s). Need to be a driven leader with an ownership mentality, technical acumen, and desire to make a difference for customers and SAP SuccessFactors teammates alike.

Position will work with designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, and extended team members to drive product excellence and facilitate the successful delivery of experiences that are intuitive, engaging and aligned with the SAP SuccessFactors vision and strategy. Need to be self-motivated and ownership-minded, will be charged with coordinating and managing program and workstreams, ensuring predictability and healthy partnerships within the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Candidate will need to demonstrate strong prioritization, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Must be detail-oriented, well versed in program management methodologies and product life cycles, skilled in a cross-functional matrix environment of technical resources, possess the ability to multi-task, and work under moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of technical programs within Product Engineering, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Design (UX), Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Security.
  • Utilize standard program management processes to establish charters, define plans, monitor success criteria (KPIs), and manage interdependencies.
  • Foster transparency, organization, and accountability to program workstreams across multiple teams and organizations.
  • Lead program status meetings and progress reporting, ensuring workstream ownership associated with deliverables, dependencies, and risks.
  • Manage and mitigate critical situations, guiding teams through ambiguity and unexpected situations.
  • Conduct retrospective reviews to evaluate program performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Job Requirements

  • Experience managing programs/projects, with understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and engineering processes (SDLC).
  • Technical acumen, ability to propose solutions to technical constraints.
  • Sense of ownership with proactive problem-solving skills, and ability to handle ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Solid analytical and communication skills, with risk mitigation mindset.
  • Proficiency in project management methodology, processes, and tools (like MS Teams, MS SharePoint, MS Project, MS PowerPoint & Excel, JIRA, Aha!, and Confluence)..
  • Ability to understand and apply artificial intelligence concepts to project planning, decision-making, and process improvement. Experience learning about and working with AI-enabled tools; and managing projects that incorporate data-driven or AI-based solutions.
  • Experience with Enterprise solutions and understanding of security and data privacy regulations is a plus

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to represent SAP SuccessFactors internally and externally at a Senior Management level.
  • Experienced in both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.

Experience & Language Requirements

  • 3+ years as a Program Manager; with experience in Program/Project Management, Software Engineering, Product Management, or Release Management.
  • Experience managing programs in a diverse global organization.
  • Interaction with multi-national customer base and colleagues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technical discipline.

Desired / Not Required:

  • Master’s or advanced technical or business degree
  • PMP Certification
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • SaaS experience

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 122400 - 208000(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
