Job Description

Overview

At Microsoft AI, our Health team is on a mission to help millions of users better understand and proactively manage their health and wellbeing. We’re responsible for ensuring that Microsoft AI’s models and services are useful, trusted and safe across diverse customer health journeys.

We’re assembling a world-class team of builders with backgrounds in healthcare, big tech, and frontier AI research labs. Our goal is to translate cutting-edge research - like MAI-DxO (microsoft.ai/new/the-path-to-medical-superintelligence) - into transformative products for millions of users across copilot.com and Microsoft’s consumer ecosystem.

We're looking for an exceptional Technical Program Manager with experience building and shipping high-trust consumer products and features. You will orchestrate the cross-functional effort required for successful launches, while maintaining the quality, privacy, and security our users expect. You will bring deep technical fluency and work closely with engineers, applied AI scientists, product managers, and partners across Responsible AI, Compliance, and Legal, among others, to drive alignment and execution.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realise our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage complex technical programs end-to-end, including planning, timelines, milestones, and risk management.
  • Drive cross-functional execution (e.g., across engineering, product, clinical, and compliance teams), including sequencing work, translating requirements, managing dependencies and trade-offs, and keeping critical paths unblocked.
  • Enable high-quality delivery by defining and running strong launch processes, with clear criteria, traceability, and decision hygiene.
  • Bring technical fluency and confidence discussing implementation, evaluation, launch and monitoring considerations.
  • Own program tooling and visibility, maintaining artifacts that keep teams aligned, including dependency tracking, project plans, and decision logs.
  • Clearly and regularly communicate progress, risks, and plans with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Establish and evolve lightweight operating mechanisms that improve clarity, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Advocate for the team’s needs and help ensure the right resourcing, support, and focus to deliver outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Several years of experience in technical program management, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Strength in translating requirements between product & engineering teams and partners such as Compliance, Legal, and Responsible AI, enabling sound decisions and trade-offs.
  • Ability to bring structure and clarity to complex, ambiguous, and changing technical challenges, and comfort doing so at pace.
  • Experience delivering programs that involve production AI systems, evals, launch criteria/ readiness, and operational considerations for safety, privacy, and security.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority and align stakeholders with different priorities.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, designers, and clinicians, and maintain strong relationships under pressure.
  • A collaborative way of working that fosters accountability, rigour, and continuous improvement.
  • Curiosity and judgement in technical domains, with a drive to stay up to date with emerging AI approaches and best practices.

Additional experience that helps:

  • Experience in health AI, healthcare technology, or other regulated software environments.
  • Familiarity with teams building in line with a structured software development lifecycle, including QMS and ISO standards, and documentation and traceability expectations.
  • Proven experience shipping successful consumer products or features.

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
