Job Description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
Purpose & Objective
The Content Strategy and Planning team in Corporate Marketing is looking for a Senior Director of Content Strategy to develop and execute content strategies across the entire customer journey, from awareness and perception to try, buy, adoption, and consumption—spanning both digital and physical engagement.
Our team believes in connecting with customers at scale, supporting them at each stage of the customer journey, from early awareness and consideration, through onboarding and post purchase engagement. You will be in the middle of it all helping to identify the right content that delivers what customers want—where they want it, when they want it, and how they want it.
As a senior content strategist, you will help evolve the content strategy discipline at SAP by relying on both your functional expertise and your leadership experience to build close relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders that are critical in driving business impact. You will work closely across stakeholder teams to help translate customer journeys across the business and act as a guide on how the journey is realized through compelling content throughout our go-to-market efforts. In addition, you’ll work with other content teams, helping ensure that in an environment where we uphold content democratization, we’re also upholding customer-centricity and quality over quantity.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcend the day-to-day. Work across content functions—strategy, operations, governance—and help break down silos and be a key change leader to create a content center of gravity for SAP.
- Define content strategy for our end-to-end customer journeys.
- Build the resulting content plans for key marketing motions, designed to accelerate the customer through the lifecycle.
- Create content plans to address the insights in the customer journey and strategy, ensuring the content is aligned to what the customer needs at each stage.
- Be a customer advocate. Relentlessly champion the customer and the experiences they have with the content you create—how they find it, how they consume it, how they use it to make decisions.
- Leverage data and market insights for decision making including content optimization and new concept development.
- Understanding of the generative AI landscape and identifying opportunities to use AI in the content strategy and content production disciplines to unlock breakthrough scale.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of demonstrated track record driving business impact through content.
- 10+ years of digital marketing experience and well-versed in best practices, including familiarity with customer journey mapping.
- Strong customer centric mindset and demonstrated ability to put the customer first.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clear and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Recognized as a self-starter with a bias for action.
- Creative problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset approach
- Experience managing across highly matrixed organizations, often with competing priorities.
- Deep understanding of content disciplines, including SEO, content strategy, and execution.
- Experience with commercial technology sales processes
