Are you a leader with a strong engineering background looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Engineering as part of our Technology Leadership Team. RPS is looking for a dynamic candidate to manage and oversee our software engineering department.

In this new role, you will be leading a team of up to 20 engineers and testers, implementing engineering strategies that align with our company's overall goals. Your role includes ensuring project completion within timelines and budgets and collaborating with departments like product development and editorial to align our projects with the company's strategy.

Your responsibilities will also include staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, ensuring our company remains competitive and innovative. Compliance with industry standards is crucial, as is regular communication with stakeholders like senior management, customers, and partners.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background in engineering
  • Proven project management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and implement engineering strategies
  • Leadership abilities and experience in creating a positive work environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good understanding of business operations
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge

This role is a blend of technical knowledge, project management, leadership, and strategic thinking. The successful candidate should be able to balance these skills to effectively manage our engineering department and drive the company's success.

You are part of the Technology Leadership Team reporting to our Chief Technology Offer. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, Pharmaceutical Press and our Professional Leadership Body.

The Team

As well as the above teams, you will be working across the organisation. We are welcoming someone who sees opportunities, is proactive and energetic wanting to make a difference to the way we work and the way we support our members.

How we are currently working

RPS supports and works in a hybrid way, which means you will be able to work from home, however, there will be an expectation for collaborative face-to-face working – on average and typically this may be something between 4-8 working days per month at our London Office.

🗓️ Closing date: 15 April 2024
