The Role

At Prolific, you'll build cutting-edge AI systems that enable leading AI companies to incorporate high-quality human feedback and data into their models. You'll architect the underlying intelligence that powers our human-in-the-loop platform, developing for both traditional ML models and modern AI systems that transform how the industry evaluates, aligns, and improves AI models and systems. You'll work across the full spectrum – from fraud detection algorithms to sophisticated representation systems – creating the technical foundation that makes human feedback actionable at scale. This role sits at the intersection of AI advancement and real-world application, giving you a direct impact on how the next generation of AI models evolve.

What You’ll Be Doing

Technical Leadership & Modelling

• Transform our existing models into robust, monitored systems
• Design and implement AI/ML systems that enhance how human feedback is collected, validated, and utilised
• Architect solutions that intelligently route tasks, detect quality issues, and optimise human-AI interactions
• Balance sophisticated technical approaches with practical business requirements

Infrastructure & Scalability

• Design and architect our AI/ML platform
• Implement AI/ML observability systems that ensure reliability and performance
• Develop reproducible training and deployment pipelines that scale with our business
• Establish data-centric AI practices that leverage our unique position in the human data ecosystem
• Drive technical standards and best practices across our AI engineering work
• Collaborate with data scientists, platform engineers, and research teams to build cohesive solutions

What You’ll Bring

• Strong track record implementing AI/ML systems that solved real business problems
• Skills in both building models and creating the infrastructure that supports them
• Proven expertise in modern AI/ML engineering practices and technologies, e.g. LLMOps or agentic AI
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with expertise in Python, AI/ML frameworks, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience mentoring teams and influencing AI/ML strategy
• Track record of improving AI/ML systems through better engineering practices
• Ability to balance cutting-edge approaches with production reliability
• Passion for improving how AI systems learn from and interact with humans
• Experience with human-in-the-loop systems, synthetic data, or AI alignment a plus
