Job Description

Technical Propositions Manager

  • Own meaningful regulatory and legislative change across financial services propositions

  • Combine technical consultancy, proposition governance and change delivery in a high visibility role

  • Hybrid 80% homeworking and 20% from Stratford upon Avon

About the role

This varied role gives you meaningful ownership of regulatory and legislative change, high visibility with senior stakeholders and the opportunity to lead project teams. It also offers scope to deepen your technical expertise and broaden your experience across the wider proposition portfolio over time.

Building trusted relationships will be central to the role. You’ll work with colleagues across NFU Mutual, support their understanding of the regulatory context and help them explain propositions clearly to customers. You’ll also manage relationships with relevant third parties, partners, suppliers and industry groups, with potential opportunities to represent the business externally.

You’ll also play an important role in proposition governance. This includes supporting product reviews, monitoring performance against agreed targets and helping NFU Mutual meet its Consumer Duty obligations while managing customer conduct risk effectively. You’ll provide technical review and approval for product terms, core disclosure documents, financial promotions and customer and adviser communications, ensuring content is clear, accurate and compliant.

Working across both the products we manufacture and those we distribute for third parties, you’ll help shape, design and deliver changes to propositions, products and processes. You’ll contribute to and, where required, lead regulatory, proposition and remediation projects, from defining the scope and building the case for change through to delivery and review.

You’ll monitor legislation, regulation, consultation papers and wider external developments, assessing what they mean for NFU Mutual, our advisers and our customers. You’ll turn complex requirements into clear recommendations and help the business respond in a way that supports customer needs, regulatory responsibilities and commercial objectives.

At NFU Mutual, you’ll help shape and protect our pensions, investment and protection propositions. Sitting alongside proposition leadership across investments, retirement, protection, advice and distribution, you’ll provide specialist support wherever regulatory or technical change needs careful interpretation, strong governance or practical delivery.

About you

You combine analytical and critical thinking with clear written and verbal communication. You engage and influence stakeholders confidently, make pragmatic decisions and solve problems effectively. Accountable and delivery focused, you bring close attention to detail while keeping complex work moving.

To join NFU Mutual, you’ll also bring

  • Expertise in pensions, investment and protection products, together with awareness of personal finance and taxation

  • Experience interpreting and applying financial services regulation and legislation, and translating technical language into clear business terms

  • Knowledge of product and proposition governance, including Consumer Duty and conduct risk

  • Experience delivering regulatory, proposition or remediation change and leading project teams

  • Experience reviewing and approving product documentation and customer communications

At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique. We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees.

We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.

We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, a Race at Work and Women in Finance Charter signatory and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability, neurodiversity, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.
