Job Description

📍Hybrid, London (2 days per week), Remote (3 days per week)
🚆 Occasional paid travel to our Sheffield and Lincoln offices

The Role

We’re looking for a Proposition Manager to lead the evolution of Goodlord Referencing.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of one of our core propositions, helping define not just what tenant referencing looks like today, but what it should become next.

Working at the intersection of strategy, customer insight and collaboration, you’ll identify opportunities to improve quality, speed, trust and customer experience across the referencing journey. You’ll combine evidence, commercial thinking and customer insight to influence the direction of the proposition, balancing immediate opportunities with a longer-term vision.

Success in this role comes from collaboration. You’ll work closely with Product, Marketing, Operations, Commercial, Compliance and Engineering to test ideas, build alignment and turn insight into meaningful improvements for our customers and business.

If you enjoy solving customer problems, challenging assumptions with evidence and shaping propositions through collaboration, this could be a great next step.

What you’ll be doing

As Proposition Manager, you’ll:

  • Research and validate ideas through customer interviews, market research and data.

  • Build a deep understanding of customers, competitors and market trends to identify opportunities.

  • Turn insight into clear recommendations, business cases and commercial models.

  • Help shape the strategic roadmap for Goodlord Referencing, balancing customer needs with commercial outcomes.

  • Assess proposition opportunities, revenue impact and long-term value.

  • Facilitate workshops and cross-functional discussions to build alignment and move ideas forward.

  • Work closely with Product, Operations, Marketing, Commercial and Compliance to evolve the referencing experience.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve quality, speed, trust and customer experience.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with experience shaping products, propositions or customer journeys, who combines customer insight, commercial thinking and collaboration to influence strategic direction.

You’ll bring experience of:

  • Developing products, propositions or customer journeys based on customer needs and business priorities.

  • Using customer, market and competitor insight to identify opportunities and make evidence-based recommendations.

  • Building business cases and assessing commercial opportunities, balancing customer value with business outcomes.

  • Turning complex information into clear proposals that gain stakeholder buy-in.

  • Working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Commercial, Operations or Engineering teams to shape and deliver initiatives.

  • Using qualitative and quantitative data to validate ideas, prioritise opportunities and measure success.

  • Taking ideas from discovery through to recommendation, prioritisation and implementation.

  • Managing stakeholders, navigating ambiguity and bringing people together around a shared direction.

  • Knowledge of API integrations, cloud infrastructure, and the technological underpinnings of SaaS platforms.

It would also be great if you have:

  • Knowledge of tenant referencing, lettings, PropTech, financial services, credit scoring or another regulated or operationally complex environment.

  • Experience with CRM, BI or analytics tools, process mapping or more complex data analysis.

  • Exposure to sales, marketing or go to market activity.

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on one of Goodlord's core propositions.

You'll work with senior stakeholders across the business, influence strategic decisions, shape the future of our referencing proposition and help define what great looks like for our customers over the coming years.

If you enjoy bringing people together, solving complex problems and building propositions that create real customer and commercial value, we'd love to hear from you.
