Job profile-

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to shape the next generation of our time-series data capability.

Across major infrastructure projects, large volumes of sensor, monitoring and operational data are generated over time. Our Timeseries product enables project teams to bring this information together, connect it with other project data, understand trends and changes, and build data-driven applications and services around it.

You will join our digital product and engineering organisation in India and work with colleagues and project teams around the world.

Role description

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a product at an important point in its evolution. We have an established legacy platform supporting real projects and customer use cases, alongside a new cloud-based Timeseries product that we are developing for the future.

Your role will be to understand how our customers and project teams use time-series data today, identify their most important needs, and translate those into a clear product strategy and roadmap for the new platform. Your job will not be to recreate the legacy system feature for feature. You will work with customers, project teams, engineers, architects and other Product Managers to determine:

  • what should become part of the core Timeseries product;

  • what should be redesigned or simplified;

  • what should be enabled through APIs, events and integrations;

  • how existing projects can safely transition to the new platform;

  • and which legacy capabilities can ultimately be retired.

You will be comfortable working in a technically complex environment while keeping the product focused on user needs, reusable capabilities and measurable outcomes.

Job Responsibilities -

  • Own the vision, strategy and roadmap for our Timeseries product.

Product Manager

Noida, Uttar Pradesh
  • Understand how customers and project teams use time-series, sensor and operational data, and identify the problems that are most valuable for us to solve.

  • Lead product discovery with users, project teams, engineers and subject-matter experts, translating their needs into clear product outcomes and priorities.

  • Define MVPs and make deliberate decisions about what belongs in the core product and what does not.

  • Work closely with the engineering team to maintain a clear, prioritised and delivery-ready product backlog, ensuring upcoming work is understood and aligned to product outcomes.

  • Play an active role in the team's agile delivery rhythm, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives, maintaining clarity on priorities, outcomes and learning.

  • Shape the product capabilities for ingesting, managing, finding, visualising and responding to time-series data, including ingestion, search and alarming.

  • Define how Timeseries works with APIs, events and other applications so that specialist project needs don't create unnecessary complexity within the core product.

  • Lead the product strategy for transitioning existing projects from our legacy platform, identifying what should be replaced, redesigned, supported differently or retired, and developing a repeatable migration approach.

  • Improve onboarding and self-service so project teams can adopt and configure Timeseries without relying on specialist platform knowledge.

  • Work closely with engineering, architecture, design and other product teams to turn product direction into delivered customer outcomes.

  • Define meaningful measures of product adoption, customer value and migration progress.

  • Communicate product direction, priorities, decisions and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Candidate Specification

    We are looking for an experienced Product Manager who enjoys solving complex product problems and is comfortable working with technical products.

    You may currently be working with a data platform, IoT product, analytics platform, developer platform, enterprise SaaS product or another technically complex B2B product.

    You do not need to be a software engineer or database specialist. However, you should be technically curious and able to work confidently with engineers and architects, understand the implications of different approaches, and turn technical complexity into clear product decisions.

    Most importantly, you will bring strong product judgement. You will be comfortable deciding not only what we should build, but also what we should not build.

    Your experience is likely to include several of the following:

    • Product strategy, discovery and roadmap ownership.

    • B2B, enterprise, platform or data product management.

    • Understanding customer and user problems through research and discovery.

    • Translating complex needs into product outcomes rather than simply collecting feature requests.

    • Defining MVPs and making evidence-based prioritisation and scope decisions.

    • Working closely with engineering, architecture and design teams.

    • APIs, integrations, data pipelines or other technically complex product capabilities.

    • Cloud-based software products.

    • Managing products with multiple customer or project use cases.

    • Communicating complex product decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

    Experience leading or contributing to a legacy platform replacement, customer migration, data-platform migration or major product transformation would be particularly valuable.

    Qualifications Preferred -

    Experience in some of the following areas would be beneficial, but is not essential:

    • time-series databases or time-series data products;

    • IoT, sensors, telemetry or operational data;

    • Microsoft Azure or other major cloud platforms;

    • APIs and SDKs;

    • event-driven systems;

    • data ingestion and data pipelines;

    • data visualisation and analytics;

    • alerting or alarming products;

    • geospatial or GIS products;

    • multi-tenant SaaS or platform products.

    We are more interested in finding an excellent Product Manager who is comfortable working with technical products, than somebody who already knows our particular technology stack.

    Further details-

    This role offers the opportunity to shape a product while it is being transformed rather than inheriting one where all the major product decisions have already been made.

    You will help us take the best of an established capability, simplify areas that have become complex over time, and establish a modern Timeseries product that can support projects at scale.

    You'll have the opportunity to work with real infrastructure use cases and diverse project teams, and to influence how sensor and operational data are used across our digital products in the future.

    The successful candidate will ultimately help us answer three important questions:

    1. What should our Timeseries product become?
    1. How do we make it simple and valuable for projects to adopt?
    1. How do we successfully move from the platform we have today to the product we want for the future?

    Flexible working
    At Mott MacDonald, we support our staff to create work-life balance which works for them and welcome candidates looking for career flexibility. We are open to discussing flexible working at interview stage.

    Our benefits package is designed to enhance your experience:

    • Agile working
    • Critical illness and compassionate leave
    • Paternity Leave
    • Group term life insurance, and Group medical insurance coverage
    • Career mobility options
    • Short and Long-term global employment opportunities
    • Global collaboration and knowledge sharing

    Employment Compliance Requirement

    As part of our global compliance requirements, all candidates must hold a valid Right to Work (RTW) document in India, which will be verified during the recruitment process.
    Acceptable documents include a Passport, Voter ID, or Birth Certificate.
    By applying, you confirm that you can provide valid documentation if and when required.
