Insight into the role
The Commercial Team sits at the centre of our Home Services business. They are responsible for all products verticals within the remit including Home Communications, Mobile and Recycling products, Energy, Boiler Cover, plus more. We manage the commercial relationships with many household brands, as well as lesser known brands. We strive to build long term and successful relationships with them. We pull together all internal teams to ensure we provide a great experience for customers and deliver results for the suppliers.
We are focused on getting the best deals on site for customers and as a team that means we are continually negotiating those deals, agreeing incentives, and making sure those offers have the right exposure via our various opportunities.
How you’ll spend your day
Ensure we have a market leading cadence of high quality offers, and exclusives, available across our network, MoneySupermarket, MoneySavingExpert and our B2B partner network;
Maintain and enhance our key commercial relationships, including ensuring that we build better relationships with key decision makers and influencers;
Drive the trading process for Energy and related products, ensuring that actions are identified and followed up
Own the non-transactional commercial strategy (tenancy etc), driving growth where appropriate but ensuring we have a sustainable and robust revenue line;
Working with the General Manager to own an drive the strategy for key re-negotiations;
Ensure that ‘back-office’ functions (Customer services, pricing updates etc) are efficiently managed in line with agreed SLAs;
Where appropriate work with peers in other teams (SEO, PPC, Product, Tech etc) to drive and align on the broader Energy product strategy;
What value you’ll bring to the role
Have proven ability in presenting, negotiating and implementing sales initiatives / promotions;
Enjoy big picture strategy development, but also comfortable working within the detail;
Be professional, highly organised, deadline driven and demonstrate attention to detail in oral and written communication/reporting;
thrive when challenged, and not be afraid to challenge;
Ideally, but not essentially, have experience from within the retail energy sector
Have experience in account management, preferably in a digital environment;
Have excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to effectively build rapport and develop strong relationships externally;
Have a practical approach to work and be willing to just get things done when needed.
