Job Description:

The Senior Manager Finance Excellence is a central role within Digital Operations, accountable for end-to-end financial management of GDO running costs. The role ensures strong financial governance, accurate forecasting, disciplined cost control, and clear communication of cost drivers, value, and risks across Mars Digital Technologies.

This role acts as a financial integrator between Service, Finance, and Technology, enabling operational excellence through transparency, rigor, and predictable financial outcomes.

Run Cost Management & Visibility

What success looks like:

• GDO run costs are transparent, controlled, and well understood

• Leadership has clear visibility of budget, actuals, forecast, and gaps

Key responsibilities:

• Own visibility and tracking of GDO running costs, including:

Budget, Actuals, Forecast, and Accruals

Capital and Operating budgets

• Ensure accurate and timely period close activities

• Apply accrual accounting principles consistently

• Communicate run rate, forecast, targets, and cost drivers clearly to stakeholders

Forecasting, Planning & Financial Cycles

What success looks like:

• Forecasts are reliable and trusted

• Financial cycles run smoothly and on time

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with S&F Leads during all forecast cycles:

Operational Plan (OP)

Replan /

Year-End Estimate (YEE)

• Support annual and ad-hoc Operational and Capital budget planning

• Forecast financial requirements to meet run cost commitments

• Identify gaps, delays, and risks in spend versus plan

Governance, Compliance & Process Discipline

What success looks like:

• Financial processes are followed consistently across GDO

• Budget managers understand and comply with financial governance

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and influence a large group of budget managers to adopt financial management processes

• Measure and report adoption, compliance, and effectiveness of financial processes

• Partner with Service and Finance teams to improve financial management processes

• Ensure strong governance over IT spend and internal controls

Cost Drivers, Value & Investment Management

What success looks like:

• Cost drivers are clearly documented and understood

• Investment decisions are supported by data

Key responsibilities:

• Document and communicate cost drivers for: Run / Grow / Transformational initiatives

• Track and report on cost-saving initiatives

• Support dynamic investment portfolio management

• Partner with GDO Leadership to re-prioritize or re-forecast investments as needed

• Account for additional run costs absorbed by Core Services

Stakeholder Management & Communication

What success looks like:

• Stakeholders trust the data and the message

• Financial topics are explained clearly to non-finance audiences

Key expectations:

• Partner closely with Service Leads, Finance Leads, and Budget Managers

• Communicate financial insights, risks, and trends clearly and proactively

• Act as a reliable point of contact for GDO run cost topics

• Support leadership decision-making with facts and scenarios

Skills & Capabilities Required

Technical & Financial

• Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and accruals

• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls

• Ability to analyze IT spend and cost structures

• Understanding of IT services, technology landscape, and support processes

Analytical & Problem Solving

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Ability to identify trends, gaps, and risks

• Structured problem-solving approach

Communication & Collaboration

• Strong English verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work with different functional areas and management levels

• Confidence to influence without direct authority
