Salary: £72,500 - £90,500 + car allowance + bonus

The Procurement Strategy & Performance Head is responsible for challenging the current ways of thinking by leading change initiatives with an enterprise strategy mindset. This will enable Procurement to leverage our global scale, skills and expertise while servicing our segments local business needs.

The role will focus on identifying, creating and embedding best practice to accelerate value cross-segment and cross-category, including the creation & implementation of breakthrough process and system strategies which deliver long term competitive advantage, manage risk & maximize value to the business.

The role has a high impact on critical business processes of Mars Global Services Commercial Indirects to drive accelerated value and quality and compliance.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience of driving value via sustainable P&L Savings, Inflation Mitigation and Cash through world-class multi-year category strategies

  • The ability to drive compliance: Designing, implementing and measuring the source to pay global process so that our associates can easily access the best deals

  • Proficient in driving efficiency: Continually improve the processes and systems to automate purchasing and drive-down the operational costs of working with 3rd parties

  • Solid experience of setting strategy, program-managing the roadmap and driving the performance for procurement ambition is crucial to enabling our business to achieve the best value from its Indirects spend. This role is critical to execution/program managing the roadmap and driving a performance culture within the function

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Category responsibilities: Act as a change leader, driving enterprise-wide strategies into the region (with employees, contractors, multiple geographies, spend and cost savings)

  • Serve as a change facilitator, develop and collaborate within Enterprise on Commercial Insights that drive transformation

  • Collaborate with Global Category teams and the regional Leadership team to shape the delivery of our Commercial Strategy

  • Work closely with the segment productivity teams and Finance to track delivery and identify opportunities and support regular performance reviews. Supports segment productivity meetings. Drive the Commercial Performance Drumbeat for the Supply and the General Services Categories

  • Ensures compliance to Governance, policies, systems & controls. Oversee internal audit process, tracks performance and drives continuous improvement of governance within the region

  • Serve as advisor on Operational Excellence policies, practices and procedures working closely with other functions to drive compliance

  • Ensure technical, process and project documentation is developed, deployed and maintained for knowledge management

  • Responsible to identify training needs, address training requirements and embed understanding within the region

  • Benchmark Indirect Buying practices with the external world in order to roadmap clear milestones

  • Acts as change management leader by best-practice use of lean methods, project management, problem solving, and communication.
