Job Description

Job Description:

Champion Petfoods is expanding! We are excited to announce we are looking for a Master Data & Analytics Lead – Supply Chain to join our rapidly growing company.

Champion Petfoods is an award-winning pet food maker with a reputation of trust spanning 35+ years. Founded in a small town in Alberta, Canada, Champion – with its ORIJEN® and ACANA® brands – is a key player in the global premium pet food industry across three major geographic regions.

We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about personal and professional growth and see yourself as a key player contributing to our continued success as an award-winning company.

Here's the Scoop – Summary

The Master Data & Analytics Lead – Supply Chain governs the master data integrity, systems architecture, and analytical frameworks underpinning global supply chain operations.

Reporting directly to the Global Director, Distribution & Logistics, this role serves as the technical authority for product assortments across enterprise systems (Infor M3 ERP, Magento eCommerce, EDI, and regional order portals) and spearheads advanced cross-functional analytics (Case Fill Rate / CSL, On-Time In Full / OTIF, and multi-variable root-cause error analysis).

The Lead plays a critical role in bridging data governance, systems integration testing, and strategic business partnering across PMO, Regulatory Affairs, Customer Experience, and Information Technology.

The Master Data & Analytics Lead – Supply Chain works out of our Corporate office Edmonton (AB) and works a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-person.

What a typical day looks like:

Master Data & Assortment Governance

  • Technical ERP Ownership: Exercise full technical ownership of Infor M3 Assortment Table maintenance, managing SKU additions, deletions, and lifecycle status changes in strict alignment with Regulatory Affairs eligibility rules and PMO product launch timelines.
  • System Data Flows & Synchronization: Ensure synchronized, accurate, and error-free data replication from M3 to downstream order capture channels (Magento, EDI transaction sets, and region-specific upload portals such as Australia, China, and Mexico).
  • New Product Introductions (NPI) & Market Readiness: Lead end-to-end master data configurations for new product introductions and cross-border expansions (e.g., cross-border eCommerce SKU activations and product line transitions).
  • Data Governance Committee Leadership: Serve as an active contributor and subject matter expert on the cross-functional Master Data Governance Committee, establishing robust data quality standards, audit controls, and change-management protocols.

Advanced Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Executive Metrics Architecture: Own the design, integrity, maintenance, and automated distribution of critical supply chain KPI dashboards, specifically Case Fill Rate (CSL) and On-Time In Full (OTIF).
  • Root-Cause Dissection: Conduct advanced, multi-variable root-cause analysis on operational failures—delineating error drivers across Warehousing, Transportation/Carriers, and Supply/Production constraints to prevent recurring bottlenecks.
  • Continuous Improvement & Business Intelligence: Translate analytical findings into actionable operational recommendations and executive summaries to improve customer delivery performance and operational throughput.

System Testing & Process Validation

  • Integration Testing Leadership: Design and lead end-to-end user acceptance testing (UAT) and system validation from Staging (STG) to Production (PROD) environments for new customer setups, EDI integrations, and system enhancements.
  • Order-to-Cash Validation: Validate transactional touchpoints across Credit, Master Data, Warehousing, and Invoicing to ensure seamless order-to-cash execution and eliminate post-implementation errors.

What are we looking for?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in master data management (MDM), supply chain data analytics, or business systems analysis, preferably within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food Manufacturing, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
  • ERP & Systems Expertise: Strong hands-on proficiency with enterprise ERP systems (Infor M3 strongly preferred, or SAP / Oracle) and practical knowledge of integrated data flows across EDI and eCommerce platforms (e.g., Magento).
  • Advanced Analytics Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query, data modeling, nested formulas, advanced pivot tables) and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and communicate technical data concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders (PMO, Regulatory Affairs, IT, Finance, Customer Experience).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical mindset with proven capabilities in diagnostic root-cause problem solving and process optimization.

What can you expect from Champion?

Safety: a strong commitment to ensure all people are provided with a safe, healthy and respectful environment.

Earnings: Competitive salary, RRSP with Company matching.

Industry Competitive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and Employee Assistance Programs to meet your individual or family needs.

Continuing Education: In House & Online Learning & Development, as well as an Education Assistance Program.

Quality: a dedication to uphold the highest standards of authenticity, nutritional integrity, and food safety, to earn the trust of Pet Lovers everywhere.

Other Perks: Free Bag of Premium Pet Food each month, Free Parking and more!

What are you waiting for? Join the pack!

Come as you are.

We value diversity in all forms and know the power it can bring. Workplace equality allows for creative ideas to bloom, diverse points of views to be heard, and increases overall happiness. That sounds pretty good to us.
