IT Audit Senior Manager- Data Privacy

Location: Paddington, UK

Hybrid Working- 50%

Travel Globally up to 20%

Our IT Audit Senior Manager for Data Privacy will oversee complex-level professional internal audit work across all Mars segments with a particular focus on data privacy. Work involves leading audit projects; providing consulting services to the organization’s management and staff; and providing key input to developing the risk-based annual internal audit plan, with a focus on data privacy.

What are we looking for?

  • Ideally a bachelor’s degree in MIS, finance, accounting, or a similar field and preferably possessing or working towards a privacy certification (e.g., CIPT, CIPP, CIPM, CDPSE)
  • Proven audit experience, at a major accounting or IT consulting firm.
  • Extensive audit or project experience related to data privacy is required.
  • Expertise in privacy policies, regulations, privacy or technology law, policy, and programs.
  • Experience in privacy controls testing, issue management, and remediation.
  • Strong command of data privacy principles and solid foundational understanding of key industry-leading regulations including GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Ability to audit against data privacy standards and data handling procedures that integrate with key business processes.
  • Highly skilled in planning and project management and maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Working internationally and experience in managing small teams.
  • Considerable skill in effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and presenting findings and recommendations for improvement to managers at each location, as well as other senior managers.

  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with concepts including design thinking, user-centricity, and agile are preferred.
  • Experience auditing consumer packaged goods, manufacturing companies, or medical service companies is desirable.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is a must.
  • Additional language skills are highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Develop the data privacy audit plan and act as a thought partner for the Global IT Audit Senior Director in preparing audit strategy for related technology audit areas to collectively form the annual, risk-based internal audit plan.
  • Directly manage the IT Audit Manager responsible for data privacy audit projects and consults across the organization to ensure systems comply with Mars privacy program standards.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Chief Privacy Officer and Privacy team, seeking input for annual planning and collaborating on audit results and risks.
  • Lead the planning, scoping, and execution of audit and consulting projects, including guiding the development of new audit work programs in data privacy.
  • Supervising the execution of multiple audit engagements simultaneously, and supporting the execution of highly complex, high visibility/impact projects, as needed.
  • Lead IA risk assessment of data privacy and participate in forums related to the evolution of controls and governance over data privacy.
  • Communicate or assist in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships within the team and across the organization through individual contacts and group meetings.
  • Perform quality reviews of work papers and reports and ensure timely report completion.
  • Coaching and consulting business units, MGS, and Corporate on governance, risks, and controls.
