To deliver on this ambition of a Powered by Data strategy, we need an Agile Transformation Lead with deep expertise and experience of agile methodologies and agile coaching to drive multiple initiatives and lead the change in data and user-centric thinking across Mars Snacking.

This is a new job role created due to a team expansion. The role reports directly into the Global Program Management Office and works across teams with cross-functional squads comprised of Product Strategy Leads, Product Owners, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and DevOps, both internally and externally.

To deliver on this ambition of a Powered by Data strategy we are seeking an Agile Transformation Lead, who will be responsible for leading the overall strategy, planning, scoping, analysis, development and implementation of a sustainable industry standard agile delivery framework and new ODDA operating model in a true product lifecycle management environment.

The Agile Transformation Lead will lead a team of Agile Delivery Managers and will interact and partner with other leaders and utilize strong influencing, relationships, and leadership skills, coupled with thought leadership to drive strategic Agile Transformation in support of transformational goals and business metrics.

The ideal candidate for this role has extensive program and change management experience as well as demonstrated success at managing large scale transformative journeys. The candidate must be a strong leader and will need to have strong and effective management skills, be detailed oriented, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

You will encompass deep expertise of agile methodologies, long term strategy experience, and product lifecycle management to drive the multiple initiatives and lead the change in data and user thinking across the entire Mars Snacking business, owning everything from identifying gaps and understanding and defining the strategy, to the delivery and execution of a project at team level through agile ceremonies.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience leader in delivering and maintaining Agile/Scaled Agile transformation for a large global organization

  • Significant experience in relevant End-to-end Technology Delivery, Operations management, Business Strategy and/or Change Management.

  • A trusted partner with the ability to interact, communicate, collaborate and influence all levels of the organization and build partnerships

  • Ability to tailor the frameworks to the needs and maturity level of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex organization where the ability to discover and internalize diverse stakeholder goals is critical to brokering solutions that are in the best interest of the company

  • Independent judgment and mature decision-making skills to deal with programs that often have enterprise-wide scope

  • Strong presentation skills. Able to effectively present and defend points of view to a variety of audiences.

  • Strong executive presence and ability to work effectively with C-level leaders.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Thought Leadership

  • Accountable for leading the overall program vision, strategy, and execution for Agile Transformation/Product Operating Model

  • Lead alignment on program vision across all stakeholders while advising and articulating program/project/product strategies on enabling Agile Transformation.

  • Lead a team of Agile Delivery Managers.

  • Serve as a change agent to identify ways to drive improvements around enterprise processes to challenge the status quo and champion a new culture of business and IT collaboration, innovation, agility, standardization, productivity, increased adoption and continuous improvement.

  • Improve the certainty of absorbing large-scale transformational change by building appropriate models and continuous feedback loops that engage everyone from end users to senior leaders.

  • Build and sustain strong and trusted relationships with business partners, both internal and external, in support of broader program goals and objectives.

  • Ability to lead beyond direct and matrix resource management and ability to work with a geographically dispersed team.

  • Establish a mature and healthy agile software development working environment within our organizational values.

  • Serve in the role of Agile Coach to the Enterprise and Leadership through championing and mentoring across the organization.

  • Monitor, communicate and improve performance through quantitative and qualitative measures of value, outcome, velocity, morale.

  • Promote and curate surpassing motivation that reliably achieves valuable results.   • Promote user iterative user feedback during development

Project Management

  • Drive the process and operating model for project/product governance, manage the project/product financials, SOW management and overall project administration.

  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation

  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors.

  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to the project work plan

Agile delivery

  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of projects and products through your defied operating model

  • Identifying strategical areas of improvement through talking to the team and stakeholders, ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and laying out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed way

  • Ability to articulate the value of metrics and reporting within agile delivery, including backlog management, burndown charts and team velocity

  • Working with the tech lead to introduce true DevOps practices and help “close the loop” between users and the development team.

  • Help the team highlight value and develop metrics and reports which can be presented to senior managers as to the state of the many parallel projects.

  • Assisting in the role out of the inner source and aligning the agile process with inner source methodologies.
