We are looking for a Human Rights Programme Specialist to help drive and strengthen our Human Rights Programme, ensuring we continue to embed respect for human rights throughout our operations and through our business relationships in our value chain.
The Human Rights Programme Specialist will play an important role in implementing A.P. Moller – Maersk’s human rights programme, whilst also supporting the Head of Human Rights by incorporating programme learnings into the Human Rights Strategy. Anchored in Compliance, you will be part of a global team working at the forefront of supporting our colleagues with conducting business responsibly and in line with our values.
Key responsibilities
In this role you will work closely with the Head of Human Rights and be an advisor to internal stakeholders who work with human rights topics.
Your responsibilities will include:
Define and implement the APMM Human Rights Programme and related roadmaps, ensuring cross-functional coordination, progress and accountability, and eventual readiness for CSDDD compliance.
Risk Assessments: Consolidate and maintain a comprehensive overview of actual and potential prioritised salient human rights risks in the value chain.
Monitoring: Provide tools and support to strengthen internal processes and controls related to human rights, collaborating with key internal functions.
Measurement & Targets: Develop lean tracking mechanisms for human rights performance facilitating transparent communication to key external stakeholders such as regulators, customers and investors.
Internal Engagement & Capacity Building: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across our organization to align on human rights objectives. Promote internal awareness and training on human rights, risk, and compliance issues across functions.
What we’re looking for
Strong understanding of international standards on business and human rights, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
Minimum 6 years of experience working with business and human rights, ideally within a global multinational organization.
A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to independently drive projects, solve complex challenges, and influence outcomes.
Ability to navigate a dynamic environment with evolving requirements and a diverse stakeholder landscape.
Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
