Job Description

Are you an experienced Account Manager looking for a new and exciting opportunity?

Key Responsibilities

The account manager will oversee and optimize existing funded learning contracts and work to actively secure new funded learning contracts and tenders for learning programmes.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships for funded programs, ensuring a clear understanding of requirements and identify ways to support the customer and ensure customer satisfaction whilst utilising our services and available funding programmes.

  • Achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding individual and team sales goals and contributing significantly to organizational success.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by being aware of current and upcoming funded learning programmes to identify opportunities, expand the customer base and strengthen market presence.

  • Engage with local authority’s to understand local requirements for learning.

  • Upsell and cross-sell Maersk Training by offering additional products and services that address specific customer needs and add value to existing accounts.

  • Prepare and present proposals. Develop customized bids, tenders, and presentations for customers and tenders, aligning with organizational offerings.

  • Maintain accurate CRM Records. Document all client interactions, proposals, and progress to ensure seamless communication and effective account management.

  • Provide exceptional client service. Address client inquiries and challenges promptly to ensure satisfaction and a seamless customer experience.

  • Oversee Account Deliverables. Monitor and ensure timely delivery of services or products, meeting client expectations and contractual commitments.

  • Participate in Professional Development Activities - Stay informed about industry trends, company strategies, and client needs by attending training and planning sessions.

  • Contribute to Strategic Sales Planning - Provide insights from client interactions and market knowledge to shape sales strategies and support business growth.

  • Support inside sales efforts: Handle inbound inquiries, follow up on leads, and proactively engage with direct accounts to drive additional business.

  • Act as the face of our company, embodying our Core Values and principles in how we do business.

  • Travel, as required, to meet customers and attend industry events.

We are looking for

  • Strong at engaging with people – builds trust quickly.

  • Experience in further education or funded learning programmes and tender submission.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of training and workforce development priorities within core training service sectors.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, capable of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities to resolve complex issues effectively.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly across diverse teams and functions.

  • Expertise in negotiation and managing contractual agreements.

  • Highly self-driven, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently.

  • Ability to manage a range of tasks, from administrative duties through to interactions with major customers.

  • Proficient with CRM programmes, MS Office applications and excellent written communication.

  • Strong organisation and administration skills

  • Location- Flexible – open to candidates across England, with a preference for those based at one of our Newcastle or Humber office locations.
