Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Technology Partner

Who are we?

Ki is the biggest global insurance tech company you’ve never heard of, unless you’ve been looking to insure a satellite, wind farm or music festival recently.
We launched in 2021 on the back of a fundraise that delivered $500m of investment, making us one the largest fintech start-ups that year. Our investors were excited about the fact we were revolutionising the way a 333 year-old industry was working. We have rapidly scaled: In our first year we wrote over $400m of premium and in 2022 we doubled that to $834m. We have developed Ki over the course of the past 2 years and created a platform that helps insurance brokers cover risks in a fast and frictionless way. We’re continuing to lead the charge on the digitisation of this market and that’s where you come in - we need more curious minds to work with us to realise this goal and create more opportunities. If helping us transform a multi-billion global industry sounds exciting to you, read on.

The day to day

The Finance Technology Partner provides a key link between the Finance and Product, Development and Algorithmic Underwriting functions within Ki. This is a two-way process whereby the business partners and the Ki team share insight and analysis in relation to the performance of the business.

The prime responsibilities will be to analyse, understand, plan, measure and articulate the cost and value of the Ki Product Roadmap, incorporating this analysis into business planning and financial reporting.

In this role you’ll be required to develop relationships across the Ki business, particularly focussing on Product, Development, Algorithmic Underwriting, Strategy and Finance. The role will include the development of business plans, expense budgets, analysis of actual performance and reforecasting. The role-holder will both challenge the Ki team as well as support them in projects and delivering on a wide range of actions.

Do you have an accounting qualification with an understanding of Insurance P&L? Have you been working with colleagues in product and / or technology roles?

Do you have experience of business performance management disciplines eg. planning, budgeting, forecasting, balanced business scorecards and KPI reporting?

For this role you’ll be a highly numerate individual with financial modelling capability who also has the ability to establish effective working relationships across the business. You’ll be technically adept using Microsoft applications (Excel, VBA and PowerPoint) to model, analyse and structure output - some familiarity with SQL (or equivalent) would be a bonus.

Our culture

This opportunity comes along with a competitive salary, 27 days annual leave, optional private medical insurance, on target bonus and strong employer’s contributory pension, plus many more benefits. We also operate in a hybrid working capacity meaning you can collaborate in the London office as well as enjoy the ability to work from home.

Inclusion & Diversity is at the heart of our business at Ki. We recognise that diversity in age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, thought and social background bring richness to our working environment. No matter who you are, where you’re from, how you think, or who you love, we believe you should be you. You’ll get a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package. This is kept under constant review to make sure it stays relevant. We understand the power of saying thank you and take time to acknowledge and reward extraordinary effort by teams or individuals. If this sounds like a role and a culture that appeals to you, let us know. Apply now!
