Position Title: Senior Telecoms Developer

Reporting To: Telecoms Director

Location: Remote, UK

Job Type: Full-Time Permanent

Please note that the successful candidate will need to go through Security Clearance, as such you'll need at least 5 years consecutive stay in the UK.

About the Role

As a Senior Telecoms Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing ground-breaking communications products. Your focus will be on the architecture and development of new, security-aware telecoms products that prioritise stability and reliability, especially for life-critical systems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a project that is vital for our users' safety and connectivity.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong experience in Linux and bash scripting.
  • A foundational knowledge of SQL database systems
  • Profound knowledge of PBX, VoIP, and cloud-enabled UCaaS solutions, with a preference for experience in Asterisk.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a communications/telecoms provider role or similar.
  • Familiarity with webservers would be beneficial

Preferred Education:

  • A degree in a numerate discipline such as Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with VoIP/SIP, PBX systems including Asterisk, SMS/SMPP platforms.

Soft Skills Required:

  • Ability to work independently while being an active participant in an agile environment.
  • Innovative thinking with a focus on continuously improving our products and solving real-world problems for users.

Our Process
Our talent acquisition team will be in touch if you're successful, the team will arrange a short screening call (max 30 minutes) to learn more about you, and what you are looking for and answer any questions you may have. If all goes well, the team will share your profile with the hiring manager for review. Our interview process is tailored to each role but typically the first half of the process is run remotely with a final stage on-site.

For this position, you can expect a two-stage interview process:

1st stage - An informal 30-60minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the role and ask any questions.

2nd Stage – A 60-minute formal interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions. This can be held either in-person or remotely.
