Job Description

Our mission is to make meaningful learning a part of your everyday 🧠. The shelf life of our skills is now less than 5 years. So, if you stopped learning today, your skills would soon be irrelevant. Think that’s a big problem? You’d be right.

Enter HowNow. Founded in 2019, our Learning and Skills Platform is disrupting the way people learn and upskill through technology. Whether it's finding a quick answer, learning skills or tapping into shared knowledge, we make it easy for people to learn what they need, when they need it.

Already used by fast-growing scale-ups and global enterprises, such as Trainline, Depop and Sanofi, we’re pushing the boundaries of how people learn.

Hi I'm Pauline the Head of People at HowNow 👋🏾 I’m looking for a People Generalist to join us.

As a true generalist, this role is really diverse. One day you may be managing our new joiner employee records on our HRIS and updating our benefits, the next you may be supporting the hiring managers with recruitment, and doing a deep-dive into our People Analytics to help support our People Strategy.

The role will include recruitment, onboarding, L&D, wellbeing, ED&I, policy reviews, as well as key strategic initiatives. You will also be responsible for the office management and coordination of internal events.

Skills you'll need to be particularly strong in are; People Operations, Employment Law, Recruitment, and Data + Analytics.

Reporting directly to Pauline, as a UK people team of 2, you’ll be a vital member of the team, focused on supporting our people’s wellbeing, training and lifecycle needs and providing the best in class employee experience!

Alongside the opportunities to develop and grow your career, we're a fun and friendly bunch. Have a watch of the video below to get an understanding of what it's like to work here.

Day-to-day tasks will include 📩

  • You'll be responsible for managing our ATS and using LinkedIn to attract talent. The reality is there won't be a huge volume of hires, but when it does arise, you'll need to be able to jump in and work with managers to find their next best talent.
  • You'll manage new starter processes including employee checks, offer letters and contracts
  • You'll answer employee requests and questions related to company policies and benefits
  • You'll coordinate wellbeing initiatives including managing benefits and vendors
