Job Description
Duration: This role is offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office and 3 days remote, or office if you prefer!)
Start date: ASAP
Sorry but at this stage, we’re not considering day-rate or consultancy arrangements.
We’re looking for a hands-on Interim PR & Content Lead to step in and own day-to-day PR and content delivery while one of our senior team members is on planned extended leave.
We need a PR and content operator who will roll their sleeves up, own delivery, and keep things running brilliantly during this period. This is a delivery-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the work - shaping stories, writing and editing content, managing agencies, and keeping momentum high.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing Director, taking real ownership of execution while ensuring quality and consistency don’t slip.
If you like autonomy, pace and variety - and you’re comfortable being the person who gets things done - this could be a great fit!
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Goodlord, we’re on a mission to create the best renting experience in the world.
As Interim Head of PR & Content, you’ll be responsible for keeping our external voice consistent, credible and high-quality throughout this interim period. You’ll lead day-to-day PR activity, manage reactive and proactive media engagement, and ensure content continues to land well across our owned channels.
This role is firmly about delivery rather than long-term transformation. While you’ll help shape priorities and bring judgement to what we focus on, you’ll also be hands-on - writing, editing, briefing agencies and getting work out of the door.
You’ll sit within the wider Marketing team (a team of 14 across Content, Growth, Product, Design and Ops), reporting directly to our Marketing Director.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The pace we move at means no two days are the same, but core responsibilities include:
PR & Media (hands-on)
Act as the day-to-day PR contact for Goodlord
Manage proactive and reactive media engagement across property, technology and business press
Brief and manage our external PR agency, ensuring clear priorities and strong output
Support corporate affairs activity by working closely with our Marketing Director (and external consultant where required) on regulatory and policy-related communications
Content delivery
Own the content plan and day-to-day output across blogs, opinion pieces, insight-led content and campaign support
Write, edit and publish content yourself where needed
Line-manage and support a junior content marketer
Ensure content supports wider marketing and business priorities
(Flagship long-form reports are not scheduled during this period - the focus is on consistent, high-quality delivery.)
Senior stakeholder support
Partner with senior leaders to support commentary, bylines and external positioning
Ghostwrite or edit content as required
Provide clear, pragmatic advice on messaging and tone
Reputation & issues support
Support reactive moments calmly and clearly
Ensure responses are aligned with Goodlord’s values and positioning
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be well suited to this role if you:
Have extensive commercial experience in PR, communications, and content marketing - ideally in B2B tech, SaaS, fintech, or proptech.
Are a strong storyteller with sound strategic judgement, able to zoom out to brand strategy and zoom in to a single headline.
Have a track record of building media relationships and delivering coverage in both trade and mainstream press.
Can translate complex regulation and technology into engaging, relatable stories.
Are fluent in thought leadership and executive communications - ghostwriting, bylines, and presentations that build authority.
Have managed content teams or agencies, balancing creative ambition with business goals.
Are naturally collaborative, confident under pressure, and energised by shaping the public conversation
Enjoy autonomy, pace and variety over large teams and long planning cycles
This role would suit someone operating at Senior PR Manager / PR & Content Lead level, looking for broader responsibility and ownership on an interim basis.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT HERE
You’ll be joining a purpose-driven team reshaping one of the UK’s most important industries.
You’ll work in a fast-paced, creative, high-growth environment where innovation and storytelling go hand in hand.
You’ll have the freedom to define how Goodlord shows up - and the support to make it happen.
You’ll be part of a culture that believes in Letting Without Limits - for our customers, our partners, and our people.
This role is about owning delivery, not building a large function. If you’re looking for a purely strategic communications role with a sizeable team underneath you, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you enjoy being close to the work and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you.
A full role overview will be shared throughout the interview process
ABOUT US
We started Goodlord because we wanted to make renting simple and transparent for everyone involved: the agent, landlord, and tenant. As more and more tenants with higher digital expectations entered the market, we were confident that we could provide a solution that works for everybody.
And we did. Like all scale-ups, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster journey. Still, we’re now stronger than ever, with around 3,000 letting agents using the platform, exciting & varied product lines and over 300 Goodlordians across the group supporting the mission!
At Goodlord, our purpose is simple: to create the best rental experience in the world. And we know that achieving that starts with our people. That’s why we’ve worked hard to build a culture where everyone can thrive, and it’s something we’ve been consistently recognised for.

These achievements matter to us not just as awards, but because they reflect something more important: a durable, people-first culture that we’ve built together. One that continues to grow year after year.
Our values guide our decisions, the way we work, our culture and the people we ask to join the team. We work hard, have fun and support each other. We’re not afraid to make mistakes (we’d never learn if we didn’t) and we’re always looking to challenge ourselves.
Our collaborations are based on honesty, friendship, and respect.
It’s an exciting time here at Goodlord. If you’re inspired by what we’re doing, are up for a challenge and share our values, we’d love to hear from you.
