Job Description
As the subject matter expert (SME) for Cognos, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and development of Cognos applications, TM1 models and BI reports at Emerald.
Day to day we’ll trust you to:
- Act as an administrator and developer for Cognos Planning Analytics (TM1) and Cognos Analytics (BI), responsible for the system roadmap and delivery of key milestones
- Carry out maintenance of Cognos data structures, TI processes and reports including:
o Cognos user licence allocation
o End user security
o System backups
o Chart of accounts updates
o TM1 slices and TM1Web worksheetso Cognos Analytics Report Studio reports over both relational databases and TM1 cubes
- Support Finance team users with Cognos data loads, TM1 Web input form updates and maintenance of TM1 slices (e.g. management accounts and forecast packs) as required.
- Provide BAU systems process cover for the FP&A Analyst, such as quarterly forecast rollovers, lockdowns and month end balancing checks as required
- Manage the annual Cognos licence support renewal process.
- Support and troubleshoot Cognos related issues.
- Support the integration of any company acquisitions into our existing financial systems and processes.
- Support continuous improvement across all systems and processes within the Finance team as necessary.
- Represent the Finance team in business wide change projects.
You’ll need to have:
Essential:
- Experience as an admin/developer in IBM Cognos Planning Analytics/TM1, including complex rules, feeders and turbo integrator processes.
- Experience as an admin/developer in IBM Cognos Analytics/BI, including integrated user security and Report Studio reports based on both relational databases and TM1 cubes.
- Advanced MS Excel, competent with an array of formulae and modelling techniques.
Desirable:
- Experience developing Cognos Workspace dashboards/reports.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases, ability to read and write basic/intermediate SQL code (highly desirable).
- Experience maintaining MS Excel VBA macros.
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified / part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Change management / project delivery experience.
