We currently have a vacancy in our team for a Litigation Attorney who will be part of a vibrant and expanding legal and supporting team of 25 that uses multiple leverage points to integrate climate-related risks and externalities into the laws that govern businesses and economic systems.

Key Responsibilities
- In consultation with team members and managers, participating in all phases of U.S. litigation, from idea generation to scoping, investigating, evaluating, and supporting the initiation of litigation, and supporting the advancement of litigation through discovery, trial, and settlement;
- With guidance from team members and managers, developing and nurturing relationships with partner organizations and other stakeholders;
- Preparing high-quality written work that effectively communicates to a wide variety of legal, policy, political, financial, civil society and interdisciplinary audiences;
- Representing ClientEarth’s work externally as delegated, including participation in forums, conferences, webinars, and stakeholder meetings;
- Supporting donor engagement and fundraising efforts where appropriate, including contributing to funding proposals and aligning narratives with organizational strategy and impact;

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Law degree and admission to practice in at least one US state (essential)
- Junior to mid-level experience at a law firm, legal NGO, or government role (essential)
- Litigation experience, including in state and federal courts (essential)
- Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: insurance, banking, capital and debt markets, asset management, bankruptcy, oil and gas (or other natural resources), consumer protection, class actions and mass torts, antitrust, technical knowledge relating to finance and/or accounting (desirable)

We provide technology to enable home working and reimbursement of up to $300 to cover additional equipment needed to ensure that you have an ergonomically sound work space.
