An opportunity to play your part:

As a Monitoring Analyst, your expertise with various monitoring tools, ability to recommend optimal solutions, and strong documentation skills will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and efficiency of the organisation's IT infrastructure.

AIOps is an integral part of ensuring the success of the newly established Real-Time Command Centre. By leveraging advanced AI and machine learning capabilities, AIOps enables real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, and automated incident response, all of which are crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and system stability. You will drive reductions in operational costs, enhance platform stability and agility, and significantly boost customer retention and growth.

The day to day:

  • Assess the organisation’s needs to recommend the most suitable monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, DataDog, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch)

  • Ensure selected tools align with the organisation’s IT strategy and AIOps standards.

  • Support IT teams in installing and configuring monitoring tools across development, testing, and production environments

  • Advise on appropriate monitoring thresholds, settings, and capabilities to meet performance and availability requirements.

  • Establish controls to ensure monitoring solutions function as expected.

  • Develop and enforce governance policies related to monitoring practices.

  • Work closely with IT operations, development, and project teams to ensure effective utilisation of monitoring tools.

  • Train team members and end-users on the functionality and benefits of monitoring tools.

  • Document monitoring setups, configurations, and protocols.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of team processes to provide streamlined support to customers.

  • Continuously analyse monitoring data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement.

  • Implement enhancements to monitoring systems based on feedback and evolving requirements from the Real-Time Command Centre.

  • Ensure monitoring practices comply with organisational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in monitoring technologies and best practices.

About You:

  • An understanding of ServiceNow ITOM and its various components.

  • Experience with monitoring tools e.g. AppDynamics, DataDog, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch.

  • Understand the processes and procedures for effective use of monitoring tools.

  • Ability to recommend the correct monitoring tool that best fits the requirement.

  • Strong documentation skills to create clear and detailed reports and processes.

  • Ability to work as part of a team collaboratively and react positively to challenges.

  • A knowledge of monitoring thresholds, settings, and capabilities.

  • Define controls to ensure Monitoring solutions work as expected.

  • Ability to analyse complex data and identify trends and patterns.

  • Are initiative-taking, pay attention to detail, and want to make a difference.
