Overview of role

We are looking for Business Analysts to join the Optimisation Workstream in the Central Digital team which is working to create innovative new digital solutions that embed and evolve Mott MacDonald’s technical domain capabilities.


The role will be exposed to the demanding and real-world problems faced by our clients and project teams; and have the exciting opportunity to help them articulate their business requirements and advise them on digital solutions and methods to meet their challenges.

The role has a fantastic opportunity to engage with teams across Mott MacDonald’s EUNA and ISMA Regions to help steer our initiatives and deliver what our delivery teams need now and in the future.


Responsibilities


The role will play a crucial role in engaging with business stakeholders, establishing their requirements and help to develop our initiatives to meet those needs. The role will be part of how we bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions from start to end.


The main areas of work for the role are:

  • Connecting with stakeholders to conduct requirements gathering, analysis and review; through interviews, workshops, document review and assessments.
  • Identifying opportunities for implementing digitalisation to solve infrastructure industry challenges. Applying digital-first approaches to existing or new needs, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supporting stakeholders in the identification of additional potential functional as well as non-functional requirements.
  • Prioritisation of requirements based on outcomes for the business and perceived effort or complexity.
  • Supporting the evaluation of technical feasibility against business requirements.
  • Continuing engagement with stakeholders and end-users in the managing the realisation of business requirements through any design and development.
  • You will have exposure to a wide range of sectors and service lines across Mott MacDonald; supporting colleagues with varying levels of digital maturity to translate their knowledge, processes and methods into scalable processes and digital solutions that solve client challenges and deliver return on investment to the business.

Candidate specification

The essential qualifications for this role include demonstrated ability in a Business Analyst type role or other delivery related experience ideally in consultancy, digital or IT teams.


You will bring enthusiasm and growing technical skills to help develop optimisation projects. You will demonstrate integrity through your collaboration with stakeholders and interactions with other members of the team.


Essential

  • Empathetic engagement and communication skills
  • Genuinely collaborative attitude and approach.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to solve problems, improve society, make a difference.

Desirable

  • Experience of agile development.
  • Previous experience of digital tool projects or digital change initiatives would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or similar work experience.
