Job Description

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About your team:

At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it.

We’ve been powering the UK’s homes and businesses for over 200 years – but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We’re making the UK greener and more energy efficient, getting closer to Net Zero. By using clever tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers, we’re making it cheaper and easier for our customers to reduce their carbon-footprint.

We’re looking for a commercially minded Executive Relationship Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of strategic partnerships. You'll build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, drive long-term partner success, and ensure the delivery of strong customer, commercial and operational outcomes. Working across multiple functions, you'll identify growth opportunities, maximise value from key partnerships, and act as the voice of the partner within the business, helping shape future strategy and performance.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Own and develop our OEM strategic partnerships, acting as the primary relationship lead and trusted advisor to senior partner stakeholders.
  • Drive partner success by ensuring contractual commitments, customer outcomes, service performance and commercial objectives are delivered.
  • Lead governance and regulatory oversight, including performance reviews, executive steering forums, risk management and compliance activities.
  • Use performance insights to identify opportunities for growth, improvement and value realisation, while holding internal and external stakeholders accountable for agreed outcomes.
  • Develop and execute account plans that support partner retention, renewal and long-term commercial success.
  • Identify and progress new growth opportunities, including proposition development, cross-sell, upsell and strategic expansion initiatives.
  • Manage partnership risks, escalations and remediation plans, ensuring customer, regulatory and reputational considerations are effectively addressed.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, Regulatory, Marketing and Digital functions to deliver successful partnership outcomes.
  • Provide clear, decision-ready updates to senior leaders on partnership performance, relationship health, risks and opportunities.
  • Support the onboarding and successful integration of new strategic partners as the partnership portfolio grows.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Significant experience in relationship management in OEM, strategic account management, partnerships or commercial management within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrable success managing senior external stakeholders and multi-year commercial relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret contracts, business cases, performance data and financial outcomes.
  • Experience leading governance forums, managing escalations and coordinating delivery across matrix teams.
  • Ability to identify and develop growth opportunities while protecting customer, commercial and regulatory outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the judgement to provide clear recommendations and concise senior updates.
  • Experience in a regulated, service-led, insurance, energy, home services or OEM environment would be advantageous.

Why should you apply?

We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That’s why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too.
