Dealer Activation Manager
Job Description
Job Title: Dealer Activation Manager
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Pod Incentive + Company EV
Location: Field-Based
This is an opportunity to build a function, not simply fill a role. You'll become the person responsible for unlocking the full value of our automotive partnerships, creating a scalable activation model that drives meaningful commercial growth. You'll have the autonomy to shape how we engage our dealer network, work alongside experienced automotive specialists, and make a visible impact on one of the company's most important growth channels. As our automotive footprint continues to expand, you'll be at the centre of ensuring every partnership reaches its full potential.
Here's what the Sales Manager had to say:
"We've proven we can win dealers. Now we need someone who can make every dealer successful. This role is about ownership, helping underperforming sites become high performing ones through regular engagement, coaching, process adherence and operational excellence. You'll work with some of the UK's leading dealer groups and OEM partners, identifying opportunities, driving standards and creating measurable growth. If you're the sort of person who gets satisfaction from seeing a site's performance transform because of the work you've done, you'll love this role".
What You'll Do:
Own Dealer Performance Across Our Existing Network
Take responsibility for the ongoing health and performance of Pod's automotive referral channels, building strong relationships with dealer groups, OEM partners and individual retailer sites nationwide.
Drive Activation and Reactivation Programmes
Support the rollout of new dealer activations before taking ownership of ongoing engagement, ensuring sites remain active, motivated and consistently generating referrals.
Coach and Train Dealer Sales Teams
Deliver engaging face-to-face and virtual training sessions that help sales executives understand our proposition, confidently discuss EV charging with customers and follow referral processes consistently.
Implement Best Practice Processes
Monitor and improve how referral journeys are executed across dealer sites, ensuring agreed standards are being followed and performance opportunities are identified quickly.
Conduct Performance Reviews and Site Audits
Regularly visit dealerships to assess activity levels, review referral performance, check point-of-sale materials, evaluate customer journeys and identify barriers to success.
Identify Commercial Growth Opportunities
Work with dealer groups and OEM stakeholders to uncover untapped referral opportunities across new, used and demonstrator vehicle sales channels.
Provide Insight and Recommendations
Analyse referral trends, highlight risks and opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations that improve partner performance and commercial outcomes.
Collaborate Across the Business
Partner closely with Automotive Partnerships, OEM account teams, Sales Operations and Marketing to ensure partners have the tools, support and materials needed to succeed.
What You'll Bring:
Automotive Retail Expertise
You'll have significant experience working within automotive retail, OEM programmes or dealer performance environments and understand how dealerships operate day-to-day.
Field Coaching and Training Experience
You'll have a proven track record of influencing frontline sales teams, coaching process adoption and driving measurable improvements in performance.
Multi-Site Stakeholder Management
You'll be comfortable managing relationships across multiple locations and engaging stakeholders ranging from sales executives through to dealer principals and OEM representatives.
Performance Improvement Mindset
You'll enjoy identifying underperformance, diagnosing root causes and implementing practical solutions that deliver results.
Commercial Awareness
You'll understand how dealer businesses operate commercially and be able to align performance initiatives with broader business objectives.
Excellent Communication Skills
You'll be an exceptional relationship builder who can confidently challenge, influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
National Travel Flexibility
You'll be comfortable travelling extensively across the UK to support dealership and OEM partners.
It would be an added bonus if you had:
OEM Programme Experience
Experience working directly with manufacturer networks such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz or other automotive brands.
F&I, Product Penetration or Ancillary Revenue Experience
Background in driving adoption of finance, insurance, warranty or other dealership add-on products.
Regional Business Manager Experience
Experience supporting multiple dealer sites through a manufacturer, finance provider or automotive services organisation.
EV Industry Knowledge
An understanding of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure or the wider EV ecosystem.
