Job Description
Working Style: 3 days a week in office, 2 days anywhere
About the role
You will be responsible for helping forecast and manage demand, optimise resource utilisation, mitigate risks, and provide governance and reporting. You will be supporting delivery managers on the build and development of small to medium sized deliveries across the Internet and Business Connectivity Team. For context, the products and plaforms in the Internet and Business Connectivity Team generate significant revenues for BT, with the supporting platforms representing c30% of UK internet, all of BT’s private IPVPN and a significant proportion of the Mobile Backhaul connectivity within the UK.
What you’ll be doing
- Supports programme level coordination and contributes to the development of reports and analyses that document programme activity.
- Manage team demand and own the front-door process, ensuring requests are triaged and prioritised effectively.
- Supports quarterly alignment and planning readiness by facilitating cross-team synthesis of the vision, roadmap, and backlogs, and encourages collaboration across teams to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
- Supports continuous improvement by standardisng processes and utilising feedback and obtaining metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify other areas of opportunity.
- Implements workstreams to assist in the delivery of technical developments and solutions using agile methodologies.
- Identifies opportunities to resolve risks and issues relating to delivery and any impacts on related components or teams.
- Supports small- medium sized, technical projects within a specific domain which enable benefits for customers across a portfolio of projects.
- Ensures the scope of delivery is understood, including platforms, systems and networks where necessary and that the solution meets the business need and that plans are comprehensive and are achieved
Essential Skills / Experience
- E2E Technical Delivery experience, excellent stakeholder communication and the ability to engage others to deliver your project using agile methodologies to timescales & budget.
- Planning and prioritisation - experienced in demand planning, resource coordination, roadmap alignment and managing competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
- Knowledgable in delivery reporting tools such as JIRA, excel in order to measure, track and report into stakeholders and seniors on delivery progress
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Excellent organisational skills ensuring all required documentation and artefacts are created, reviewed and signed off by the appropriate stakeholders, and stored appropriately.
- Strong risk and issue management through applying appropriate risk management strategies for both delivery and business risks.
- Good understanding of Services (Ethernet, Dedicated Internet Access, BTnet, IP Connect, Wholesale Mobile Connect, Optical) and their L2C (Buy / Get) and T2R (Fault) journeys.
- Working knowledge of the Platforms underpinning those services (Converged Core, WMC, IPP, Optical).
- PMP, ITIL or Agile certifications / experience is advantageous in this role.
