Job Description

Job Req ID: 63508

Posting Date: 09th October 2026

Function: People & Culture

Location: London or Birmingham

This is a 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract.

Please note: This is an immediate requirement and the successful candidate will need to be available to start immediately or at very short notice.

About the role

BT's long-term direction is to embed inclusion into how the organisation designs its people practices, culture, processes and colleague experiences. As BT continues this journey, we are looking for an experienced inclusion specialist to help drive delivery of our priorities, respond to an evolving external landscape and ensure measurable progress against our commitments.

The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, translating inclusion ambitions into measurable enterprise-wide outcomes. Using insight, influence and execution, the successful candidate will drive progress, strengthen accountability and ensure inclusion remains an important consideration in how BT operates.

Partnering across People & Culture, BT businesses and enabling functions, the role brings clarity, challenge and coordination to BT's inclusion agenda. Using data, external insight and colleague perspectives, it identifies opportunities and risks, influences decision-making and drives action against BT's commitments and priorities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading BT's response to emerging inclusion-related regulatory, legislative and reporting requirements, ensuring the organisation is well positioned to meet current and future expectations.
  • Driving enterprise-wide inclusion priorities from planning through to delivery, creating clarity of ownership, accountability and measurable progress against commitments.
  • Building strong relationships with colleague networks, helping to maximise their contribution to inclusion outcomes and colleague experience.
  • Acting as a trusted inclusion advisor to senior stakeholders across BT, providing insight, challenge and expertise to inform business decisions and priorities.
  • Representing BT externally with industry bodies, accreditation partners, benchmarking organisations and key networks, bringing external insight into the organisation while strengthening BT's profile and influence.
  • Using data, insight and external trends to identify opportunities, inform decision-making, shape recommendations and support effective governance and reporting.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Significant experience operating as a senior Inclusion specialist, with substantial expertise in developing and delivering enterprise-wide inclusion priorities within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of the UK inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity landscape, including relevant legislation, regulatory expectations and emerging market trends.
  • Proven experience managing external partnerships, industry relationships, benchmarking activities and third-party organisations to deliver organisational outcomes.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Demonstrable experience translating strategic priorities into deliverable plans and measurable outcomes, using data, insight and evidence to influence decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility, gravitas and confidence to engage, challenge and influence senior leaders and external partners.
  • Experience leading inclusion-related reporting, regulatory responses or external disclosure requirements, ensuring robust evidence, analysis and action planning.

BT Group is the UK’s leading communications group and the holding company behind some of the country’s most recognised brands – including BT, EE, Openreach and Plusnet. Our purpose is as simple as it is ambitious: we connect for good. Our customers include consumers, small, medium and large businesses, public sector organisations and other communications providers.

BT Group’s role is about setting direction, unlocking value and creating the conditions for our brands and businesses to thrive.

These behaviours unite us as one team to deliver for our colleagues, our customers, our stakeholders and the country.
