About the role

This role is positioned within Portfolio Product and Strategy team within BT International focused exclusively on the optimisation and enablement of our growth product strategy targeting multinational businesses and global organisations to deliver secure, scalable, cloud-native connectivity - the essential infrastructure powering today’s global economy.

Portfolio Process Designers play a key role in assuring balance between best possible service to our customer, at the optimal cost to the business, without compromising quality. Accountable for the analysis, design, construct, implementation, and ongoing optimization of E2E Journeys to support BT International product roadmaps.

What you’ll be doing

As a Portfolio Process Designer, you will analyse, develop, and improve workflows for our core product propositions. You will identify inefficiencies in existing processes and propose solutions to optimize effectiveness working with cross functional teams.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders, you will identify & and define product requirements and use cases.
  • Perform process change impact assessments to facilitate resource planning and governance for change controls.
  • Facilitate workshops as required to gather inputs from various stakeholder groups (Sales, Operations, billing and technology teams) capturing detailed as‑is analysis and pain points / bottlenecks to identify pain points and redundancies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed visual models of re-designed workflows using BPMN 2.0 standards and notations (ARIS)
  • Prepare and manage collaterals for presentation to Business stakeholders to facilitate communication of design and stakeholder community change impacts.
  • Manage stakeholder feedback and agreements, ensuring understanding of product design, workflow automations and unhappy paths or sub-optimal processes are accounted for.
  • Manage and deliver the process outcomes in line with the required project delivery framework quality gates and timeframes.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage risks ensuring appropriate controls, mitigations, and accountability are in place.
  • Engage and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders across business, technology, and service teams to drive business adoption.
  • Enable operational readiness and successful go‑live by developing readiness materials, supporting rollout activities
  • Monitor process performance and delivery outcomes, maintaining ownership for targeted improvements and continuous improvement results.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of business process modelling software (e.g., MS Visio) and BPMN 2.0.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse complex systems, conduct gap analysis, and identify improvement areas. Adept at problem solving and requirements elicitation to uncover and deliver business value.
  • Commercial comprehension: Delivering profitable growth (i.e. balance delivery and benefits)
  • Self-development: Own a constantly evolving personal development plan to help you evolve within the role
  • Communication: Strong ability to collaborate across departments and engage with senior stakeholders managing diverse personas.
  • Project Management: Experience in project planning and change management. Ideally has proven experience in a Transformation environment of project delivery.
  • Independent thinker: comfortable working with a high level of ambiguity

Typical Qualifications

  • Degree level qualifications in a related field eg in Business Administration, Engineering, IT
  • Experience in business process mapping, analysis, or improvement roles.
  • Relevant certifications, such as BPM Certification (Business Process Management) or Lean Six Sigma.
