Flexible Working
The BT group operates a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a experienced People Relations Case Specialist to join us during a pivotal period of transformation within People & HR Services at BT Group.

As a subject matter expert in Employee Relations cases, you will provide comprehensive case management support and guidance on highly complex and high-risk ER matters, working closely with Business Leaders. You will also leverage your extensive ER expertise to drive improvements across processes, policies and products, upskill managers and enhance the colleague experience for employees across BT Group.

Your contribution will be crucial in driving operational excellence as we continue to expand and deliver a broader range of services. You will also play a key role in helping to safeguard BT Group against legal, financial and reputational risk while providing high-quality support to colleagues and leaders.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact function during a period of significant change and transformation.

What you’ll be doing

•Manage a designated caseload of highly complex and high-risk Employee Relations cases, providing expert end-to-end case management and advice to Senior Business Leaders, while balancing colleague wellbeing, inclusion, business requirements and risk.
•Act as an ER Subject Matter Expert, providing accurate and commercially focused advice on employment law, BT policies and procedures, and supporting managers and HR colleagues with complex ER matters.
•Use data, case insights and People metrics to identify trends, themes and root causes, proactively identifying opportunities for prevention, intervention and continuous improvement across policies, processes and products.
•Champion a positive colleague experience and safe speed of resolution, identifying appropriate interventions and escalating risks or issues through the relevant channels in line with agreed procedures.
•Build strong relationships across People & HR Services and the wider business, including CFU HR, Legal, Ethics and Corporate Investigations, to support business and people priorities.
•Coach and support less experienced ER and HR colleagues, acting as a point of escalation and sharing expertise, as well as designing and delivering relevant training.
•Lead and contribute to ER projects and continuous improvement activity, ensuring services are delivered to agreed SLAs and standards while maintaining accurate case records and keeping knowledge current across employment law, business strategy and relevant ER developments.

Essential Skills / Experience

•Extensive experience providing end-to-end case management support for highly complex and high-risk Employee Relations matters across the full spectrum of ER cases.
•Demonstrable ER expertise and a strategic mindset, with experience managing complex and high-risk cases end to end, assessing risk and impact at each stage.
•Experience taking continuous improvement ideas through to implementation, including developing and delivering process or policy changes.

Desirable Skills / Experience

•Strong understanding of employment law, the ACAS Code of Practice and effective ER case management.
•Ability to use case data and insight to identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
•Confidence in developing and delivering ER guidance or training to colleagues and leaders at all levels.
•Exposure to working with Trade Unions and/or Employment Tribunals.
•A track record of challenging existing ways of working and contributing to improvements across ER processes, policies and procedures.
