About the role
Join BT’s Defence & Defence Industry Partners team as a Customer Solutions Design Specialist, where your work will help design and deliver secure solutions that support critical Defence programmes and contribute to keeping the UK safe and secure.
Working within an existing team that delivers complex, bespoke and secure end to end network solutions and working with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto and HPE Aruba amongst others.
This is a customer facing and customer focussed role, and you must be able to lead the technical direction of projects and build a strong, trusted relationship with them and senior stakeholders.
You’ll work closely with other teams such as our Solution Architects, Operations and Security teams and be a Subject matter expert enabling the successful delivery of complex, bespoke solutions.
What you’ll be doing
Essential Skills / Experience
Production of high- and low-level solution designs, translating business requirements into secure and resilient architectures that align with enterprise design principles, security reference architectures, and industry standards such as NCSC and NIST
Knowledge of enterprise security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS security, VPNs, secure web gateways, zero trust architectures, load balancing, and application security solutions from leading vendors. e.g. Palo Alto NGFW, F5, etc.
Strong stakeholder management skills
Desirable Skills / Experience
Experience developing cloud-native and hybrid solution architectures
Experience with cloud-native architectures and container platforms
Experience working in defence or secure environments
