Job Description

Location(s): Birmingham, Bristol, London or Manchester

Flexible Working
The BT group operates a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.

About the role

Security and connectivity are becoming increasingly interconnected, and we’re exploring new ways to build protection directly into the connectivity experience across fixed, mobile and future networks.

As Product Manager, Secure Connectivity, you’ll help shape the next generation of secure connectivity, exploring how network intelligence, threat insight and emerging technologies can better protect customers, create new commercial opportunities and differentiate BT in the market.

This is an opportunity to work at the front end of Product Management. Rather than simply managing an established product portfolio, you’ll identify new opportunities and help turn them into compelling propositions, taking ideas through discovery, validation and proof of concept towards delivery and launch. You’ll work across Product, Networks, Security and Architecture, as well as with strategic technology partners, to understand what’s possible and turn the strongest opportunities into scalable products and services.

We’re looking for a commercially minded Product Manager who understands connectivity and security, enjoys challenging established thinking and pushing boundaries, and wants to help create what comes next.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identify new opportunities to integrate security into fixed, mobile and future connectivity propositions.
  • Use customer, market, competitor and technology insight to understand where BT can differentiate, create customer value and unlock opportunities for growth.
  • Turn emerging opportunities into clear product propositions, roadmaps and commercial business cases, balancing customer value, investment, risk and technical feasibility.
  • Lead opportunities through discovery, validation and proof of concept, bringing together market insight, technology capabilities and customer needs to build the evidence needed to move towards delivery and launch.
  • Explore how capabilities such as network telemetry, threat intelligence and emerging security technologies could provide customers with stronger, more proactive protection.
  • Work with security and networking vendors and strategic technology partners to assess capabilities and identify opportunities for new products and propositions.
  • Bring together colleagues across Product, Networks, Security, Architecture, Sales, Marketing and Operations to secure alignment and move propositions from idea towards market.
  • Communicate product direction, commercial rationale, progress and key decisions clearly, building support with stakeholders across a large and complex organisation.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Product management experience within telecommunications, connectivity or networking, combined with experience or strong exposure to security products or services.

Our ambition is clear – return to sustainable revenue and EBITDA growth, strengthen our market position, and deliver meaningful shareholder value through disciplined execution and bold reinvention.

We are fundamentally reshaping the business – simplifying our portfolio, digitising our customer experience and building market-leading capability across cyber, AI and managed services, all powered by the UK’s leading fixed and mobile networks. This is a shift from a legacy connectivity provider to a modern, solutions-led, AI-first business that can truly differentiate in a competitive and fast-moving market.

This is about delivering against ambitious financial outcomes while transforming how we operate – creating a business that is simpler, faster, more innovative and easier to do business with.
