About the Role


Ask HR is a team of HR advisors providing support and guidance for all colleagues across BT Group. The team guides and coaches colleagues and managers on HR-related tasks and where to find the latest guidance, aiming to resolve queries at the first point of contact. For complex queries requiring further investigation, Ask HR will guide or hand off to the relevant specialist team. Ask HR can be contacted via various channels, including calls, live chat, or by raising a case.

As part of Ask HR, the People Manager advice team provides invaluable day-to-day people advisory support to managers across BT Group. As an online advisor, you will support contact on a mixture of people related matters by guiding to policy and procedure, providing advisory support on informal and early-stage formal case matters, escalating to people relations case professionals where necessary. The role will support the triage of new cases/queries through the ServiceNow queue, transferring cases into different assignment categories, and assessing case priority and complexity.

What you’ll be doing

  • Answer calls from managers, providing clear, trustworthy advice on HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide advisory support on informal and early-stage formal case matters such as performance, conduct, absence, flexible working, and occupational health.
  • Provide guidance on the necessary steps to raise a formal people relations (ER) case.
  • Triage cases raised via ServiceNow, transferring and assigning cases based on complexity and priority by undertaking case checks.
  • Contribute to the delivery of objectives and service level agreements.
  • Strive for efficiency and continuously identify improvement opportunities to enhance the colleague experience.
  • Work closely with the People Relations Team to ensure smooth handover of case matters and that colleagues experience a ‘OneHR’ seamless service.

Essential Experience:

  • Knowledge of people relations processes such as sickness absence, performance management, grievance, and misconduct.
  • A good general knowledge of UK employment legislation and people processes.
  • Understand the need for confidentiality regarding documents processed, systems maintained, and access to confidential material within the HR community.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience of using HR systems/ ability Able to learn/pick up how to use internal systems.
  • Hold or be working towards Level 3 CIPD
