What you’ll be doing

As an Acquisition Sales Executive, you'll work within BT's Inside Sales Acquisition team to generate new revenue from a verticalised base of around 300–350 businesses. Many of these organisations will have limited (or no) current spend with BT, so success comes from re-engaging decision-makers, building credibility, and converting interest into tangible opportunities.

You'll primarily operate as an inside sales professional, with occasional customer visits where it supports relationship-building and progressing opportunities. You'll also receive supported leads via BT's outsourced appointment-setting partner and take ownership of driving momentum across your account base—balancing acquisition activity with any required account interventions to help unblock customer issues and move business forward.

Why this job matters

  • Own and grow a verticalised base of businesses, focusing on reactivating lapsed customers and winning new spend within your portfolio.
  • Drive acquisition activity across your base by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and progressing conversations from first contact through to conversion.
  • Respond to and action appointments/leads set via BT's outsourced appointment-setting partner, ensuring timely follow-up and effective qualification.
  • Prepare for customer engagements by researching the business, mapping stakeholders, and tailoring your approach to the customer's priorities and challenges.
  • Manage a fast-paced, high-volume workload, balancing revenue-generating activity with necessary account interventions that support the customer journey.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (including service/support functions) to resolve issues impacting customers and unblock opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate account and opportunity updates in BT systems, supporting forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and performance tracking.

Experience Required

  • Experience in a B2B sales role, with direct customer interaction and evidence of winning or growing business.
  • Strong drive and resilience, with the motivation to re-engage lapsed or low-spend accounts and convert challenge into opportunity.
  • Confident communication and relationship-building skills, able to influence stakeholders and handle objections professionally.
  • Ability to research an organisation and analyse trends, including changing customer demand, to enhance sales performance
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven inside sales environment, managing a high-volume base of accounts and prioritising effectively.
