What you’ll be doing

We’re looking for a Senior Internal Control Manager to join our Finance team. This is a high-impact role where you’ll report directly to the Head of Internal Control and play a key part in maintaining and enhancing our Internal Control Framework across the Brit Group.

In this role, you’ll focus on key financial processes, SOX compliance, and broader operational responsibilities within Finance. You’ll also take ownership of the Internal Control Framework for Brit Bermuda, working closely with senior stakeholders, including executive and non-executive management.

You’ll be joining us at an exciting time. Our team is involved in several major strategic projects, including finance system enhancements and transitioning to a new outsourced service provider. You’ll work directly with the Head of Internal Control to ensure the integrity of our control environment throughout these changes and help shape the future of our Finance function.

Your main responsibility will be to support the Head of Internal Control in ensuring that Brit maintains a strong and effective internal control environment. You’ll assess the impact of change on controls, support system development, and help drive improvements in control design and efficiency. You’ll also be involved in special reviews and deep dives, and you’ll have the opportunity to lead on key initiatives across Finance and the wider Group.

You’ll be expected to take a hands-on approach to control monitoring and assessment. This includes leading the delivery of our annual SOX testing programme, managing control remediation, and maintaining Bermuda-specific controls using our GRC tool, AuditBoard. You’ll also play a key role in identifying control efficiencies and rationalising redundant controls.

As part of your role, you’ll assess the impact of strategic change initiatives on our control environment. You’ll provide advisory support to senior leaders, ensure control documentation is kept up to date, and help embed risk and control thinking into our change processes.

Strong stakeholder management is essential. You’ll produce reports for executive and non-executive audiences, represent Internal Control at governance committees, and work closely with other assurance functions such as Internal Audit, External Audit, and Risk Management. You’ll also partner with business areas to provide practical, risk-focused advice.

In addition to your core responsibilities, you’ll lead control deep dives, investigations, and other ad-hoc assignments. You’ll manage contract resources and help develop and coach junior team members.

We welcome everyone wholeheartedly

We’ve got a truly diverse, genuinely inclusive work environment. We comfortably and confidently bring our whole selves to work, because we know we’ll be respected, valued and accepted whoever we are. Our Employee Resource groups are safe spaces for people to share their experiences, aspirations and suggestions about how we do things.
