How You'll Make An Impact
As a Product Designer, you’ll influence our organization and the product experience of our platform, improving its design and usability, and citing opportunities for continued enhancements. We’re looking for an experienced, T-shaped generalist (not the elusive unicorn) to join our growing UX practice. If you are a research-driven Product Designer with a computer science background, strong verbal and visual communication skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented spirit – let’s talk.
Boomi is poised for exponential scale and growth in 2026, and User Experience is the core of the Company’s growth strategy. We seek someone with unique skills and qualities, to add to the diversity of the User Experience organization, but we want someone who shares a knack for understanding user needs and expectations, and manifesting them in useful, usable, desirable solutions.
We want someone who takes initiative, and feedback. You’ll be working side-by-side with other Product Designers, as well as the UX Researchers, Content Strategists, and Technical Writers that comprise the UX Organization. We are a fluid, collaborative, cross-functional team — you’ll also be working closely with Product Owners, Quality Engineers, and Developers.
This role reports to a Senior Manager, UX/Product Design.
What You'll Do
- Drive design solutions for moderately complex, technical features across one or more product domains, defining end-to-end user flows and interface specifications
- Translate business requirements and technological concepts to elegant product design solutions, operating with growing autonomy, with minimal guidance from UX Leads
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX researchers, product managers, and engineers, within a Product Triad model to deliver cohesive user experiences
- Collaborate with UX researchers to plan and execute user research activities, leveraging findings to inform evidence-based design solutions
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand technical constraints and ensure designs are feasible and optimized for performance
- Design with consistency, precision, and attention to detail, contributing to our Design System, UI Guidelines, and their maintenance
- Incorporate accessibility principles to your designs to create inclusive experiences
- Support product strategy by contributing user-centered ideas and insights
The Experience You Bring
- 3+ years of professional experience designing complex systems or products; experience contributing to or leading design initiatives is a plus
- Educational background in computer science is preferred; or relevant experience working in technical concepts and possessing a well-formed understanding of how SaaS systems generally work
- A stellar portfolio that illustrates how you solve complex problems for technical and business users, and the outcome of these efforts
- Familiarity with qualitative research methods, and ability to design evidence-based solutions
- Familiarity with accessibility principles and an understanding of WCAG 2 standards for UX/product design
- Understanding of HTML and CSS, with an awareness of modern frameworks like React; technical expertise is not required but valued
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills, along with presentation and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban), and Lean UX principles
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with large-scale enterprise applications
- Experience leveraging generative AI or ML-powered tools to drive efficiency and enhance the design workflow
- A considered, clearly-articulated design philosophy, and a developing understanding of business acumen
- Involvement in the UX community
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks like React and similar
Aren’t sure if you’re a match? We know that impostor syndrome and the confidence gap can prevent us from meeting spectacular candidates — so don’t hesitate to apply; you could be the perfect fit!
