Employee reviews
Circle's employees have anonymously had their say in what they think of the company
One of the things that impressed the most is that, when I joined the company, multiple people at different departments and hierarchy levels said that this is the best place they've ever worked at.
Having been here for some time now, I can say the same for myself. And I believe that each person who thinks that may have different reasons for it. To me, it's about flexibility of location, transparent communication, collaboration between team members and different teams, and the trust that's placed in people by their leaders.
To keep this as balanced as possible, I don't think this type of work culture fits everyone. It takes discipline and maturity to have this kind of autonomy and responsibility and excel at it. As a consequence of that, I'm personally still figuring out how to deal with the expectations to generate significant results. But that's not something that people demand of me left and right. It's just that everyone is so good at what they do, that I just want to do my best as well.
Anyway, this is an amazing place to work that I'd recommend every day of the week!
Best place to work. LOVE IT.
Circle is the best place to work! Here, you'll find an amazing product, incredibly talented people, and a culture that values innovation and making a positive impact every day. I feel fortunate and honored to work with such nice people in this fantastic environment.
Great place to work with experienced peers. Everyone on the team has done their role for several years and comes in with opinionated perspectives about how to get their work done and how to level up others around them.
I think Circle is not only a great company for culture, flexibility, fun and great coaching and feedback, but also a great company for career growth. Because it is a startup, there are a lot of opportunities for professional development. Plus, we have 2 off-site a year which is a wonderful opportunity to exercise our culture and collaborate as a team.
Cons? Sometimes with the high paced, fast growth nature of the company, work-life balance becomes tough. Because we're remote, it's really easy to work longer hours when there's a lot of work to do. Because everyone loves what they do, I think it doesn't really show up on a day to day, but it's definitely something to keep top of mind, and be intentional about how you run your day or you'll be burnt out.
Management is the best you'll probably ever see for any company out there. There's absolutely no drama whatsoever (and we'd prefer it to stay that way). They have their own flaws, yes, but you can hold them accountable since we're all part of a team that share a wider goal. There's no repercussions for giving leadership feedback.
You'll enjoy working here!

About us
Backstory
Circle was founded by Sid Yadav (CEO), Rudy Santino, and Andrew Guttormsen in late 2019.
Circle's founders are ex-Teachable ($250m exit in March 2020) and ex-Gumroad — two notable platforms that have helped its creators generate over $1 billion in revenue. Sid and Andrew were on the founding team at Teachable, and helped it scale to over $30m ARR.
We've raised ~$30m from investors like Tiger Global, Notation Capital, Box Group, Harry Stebbings, Todd Goldberg, Scott Belsky (CPO, Adobe), Jason Warner (CTO, Github), Dharmesh Shah (CTO Hubspot), Soleio, and the founders/CEOs of Zapier, Superhuman, Teachable, Gumroad, ConvertKit, Morning Brew, Rent the Runway, Codecademy, Front, Framer, and ProductHunt.
Flexible working at Circle
Circle is a team of around 120 (and growing!) based in countries all over the world, but we meet twice per year (optional attendance) for company retreats in the most beautiful places we can find.
Our approach to flexible working is generally async and from anywhere. However, we also take into consideration the role and needs of the team when hiring. For example, roles that are customer-facing are likely to be hired in time zones where most of our customer are. Roles that require a high level of team collaboration are more likely to be hired in similar time zones to the rest of that particular team.
Approach to diversity & inclusion
As a fully-remote international company, diversity is baked into our DNA. Here’s how our CEO, Sid Yadav, frames our hiring mission: “Let’s find talent in underserved and under-represented corners of the world, set them up to do the best work of their lives, and in turn, change their life.” To achieve this hiring mission, we offer competitive U.S. benchmarked compensation no matter where someone’s located in the world, and we proactively seek candidates who expand representation of backgrounds, cultures and lived experiences in our teams.
What do we think of Circle?
Circle's incredible FlexScore is a credit to what a wonderfully flexible environment they have built. It has been a joy to work with the Circle team during this process and to have the opportunity to understand how flexible they are and how many amazing benefits they offer and just how much their employees value working for them!
Meet who might be hiring you
Hi! I'm Andy, a Talent Acquisition Partner with Circle.
One of the most common questions I get asked by candidates is "Why did you decide to work at Circle?"
My answer is always around how our leaders are carrying this company forward. They decided early on to not get swept up in multiple rounds of funding, and a 'growth at all cost' mentality. Instead, they aimed to create a more stable place to work that moves forward with intention, values steady long-term growth, and ultimately stands on its own two feet. This has been incredibly refreshing in an otherwise volatile tech market, and it's why I feel fortunate to get to work here.
