Role Description

The role holder:

• Responsible for the management, leadership and development of teams, delivering the required scope(s) of work, on time and to budget through effective real time planning and task allocation. Reporting to the Area Manager / Trade Lead, assuming “deputy” responsibilities as required for defining, planning, managing and delivering customer and business requirements Safely to Cost and Quality targets. Providing guidance & coaching to Team Leaders in support of their personal development and duties.

Core Duties

The role holder:
Responsible for managing and leading a team, through:
• Significant time on the job providing support to the team to ensure clarity and completion of tasks and targets through sharing expertise, coaching and the facilitation of appropriate interventions.
• Maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment that ensures housekeeping and behaviours are of a consistent high standard to safeguard the health and safety of the team and any other employee visiting or working within their designated area at all times during their shift.
• Represent the company through effective and regular communication, guidance and coaching with the team (including targets, progress, outcomes and consequence) to ensure their engagement in the business direction.
• Communicate effectively with the team, management and customer both internal and external to build rapport and trust.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the team to enable Operational Excellence.
• To be a facilitator to the team (support the team by co-ordinating actions to progress work activities).
• Assuming Area Manager / Trade Lead responsibilities as required to ensure effective and efficient operations are maintained across the various working patterns
• Responsible for planning and executing the work, through:
• To help support and maintain the Operational/Project Management structure including the encouragement and maintenance of continual improvement of the process.
• Ensure ownership and continued drive for their own and their teams professional development.
• Drive and manage the team to execute the plan and ensure work is progressed effectively and efficiently in line with Cost and Quality specifications.
• Carry out real time problem solving to overcome issues as they develop and work in line with the defined issue management / escalation process.
• Responsible for the quality and standards of output from the team and the achievement of all SQCDP performance targets.
• Ability to support real time planning of work and influence the business to ensure the active window of the production system to ensure full utilisation, optimal efficiency and effectiveness of the team.

Leadership Responsibilities
The role holder:
• Supporting Team Leaders and teams in their personal development through coaching and mentoring, sharing work experience and support with performance management to ensure all employees are effectively recognised, motivated and engaged in the delivery of their tasks.
• Lead, develop and motivate any reporting and assigned staff through good communication and honest open management techniques in keeping with company values, behaviours, policies and procedures.
• Leads by example championing the corporate behaviours
• Strong Management and Leadership within their day to day work naturally support the team and Area Manager in all aspects as required
